I don't get the Red County thing. The biggest hillbilly county in NY with no money and most are republicans. I think most just don't know any better.

That's exactly right. Same can be said for many of the counties in middle America where they are hard core right wingers and have no money. It's all about social issues to them and not financial. Very easily led people.
