OK - I live in the US but still have accounts (and family) in Europe - do I have to live in europe to be pain in Euros?

I travel to Europe a lot to see the kids so having a few Euros in my account there would be great. I know how weak the dollar is - my $1800 in child support goes to Germany and is so devalued that my kids get almost nothing of it......
