Cleaning up the Chameleon database

Hi All,

I recently started to clean up my CS database. I wanted to filter out sites who dont make me any traffic to make my submission quicker.
AND ALSO to generate my good partners recips with recips who lead to good tgps, not very tiny ones, who even don't post my submitted stuff.

My method is I check tgps/mgps one by one , open them, search for my galleries, etc. Yes, its incredible slow...

Other method is I open one of bigger sponsors, take a look at last full month stats, and the ones from bottom [1 unq click , etc...] I check one by one.

I have had some very bad surprises, like this one:

It has a submit page, but this is a paysite!!! WTF???

I think half of the sites in Chameleon db just want people to generate their recips and get some traffic this nasty dirty way. I think this is heavily unfair... but what can a simple submitter do? Who will spend a month with cleaning the db swiping the sh*t out of it?

I love guys who run Chameleon, I also wrote to them about this.. They have a rule page for all new webmasters who want their site to be in CS. In that they say they check traffic from TGPs and if at least 50% of galleries are from submitters, but I am sure hundreds of wms are cheating on this...

I even had partners who do not list my galleries at all.

In the end i will submit to just 10% of the db, but will get the same traffic.. And it will take half the time to finish a submission then before... This is how to save time, so its some kind of time investment.

There are loads of link thieves in CS database - submission for closed, server too slow etc.

Yes, I found that too, but WTF a paysite is building a tgp on same domain, redirecting 404 to another tgp... weird...

I will keep up cleaning the shit out until I can submit 5 galleries under the same time I submit 3 .. I does not make sense to spend time to do 70-100 manual submissions.. 10 of these makes me all the sales... other 90 is just getting my time/other tgp's traffic as a gift. so screw them...

Auto submits: 200-300 and 10-30 makes sense to do the submissions, I am almost sure.

Even if I can not submit more galleries, i can spend more time designing them or simply spend more time with my family...

No problem with paying for this, I love CS as a tool, I dont blame them because of db is full with suspicious things.

In a month, when dusting is over, I'll be a much more happier submitter

I am looking for partner account announcements on several boards.
Since I met this issue I always examine the main page of TGPs I apply to, if they REALLY DO HAVE ANYTHING ELSE THAN FHG.
Today I regged on an asian themed one, and the first five announcements I researched were like:
- "looking for quality submitters, and trades, blabla"
- ABSOLUTELY ZERO unq galleries JUST FHGS on site
- I asked some TGP owners in their thread where should I find their partners submissions, I see FHG everywhere...
- ... I am waiting for the answers, I will post results here.

I have quite good relationship with Chameleon Crew. They are very helpful in removing crappy fake TGPs from db. They said the db should be over 10k sites if they wouldnt check / remove crap for years.

Sadly, cheaters/trickers are quicker than the good working crew of Chameleon...

Nevermind, I just created a milestone project of this, my deadline is 1st of April... From that time my partners will be happier with my galleries because they will be able to see some good traffic from the recips

I suggest all good submitters who think in long term, and are not lazy to do the following every single day:

- Check some TGPs you submit to if they have your galleries on main page [source code-->search usually works (or look for your thumbs in the categories you submit the most)]
- Disable generate in your CS for some sites
- Write a good application and send it to 2-3 places that are open for accepting new partners.
- USE NOTES to every site you check. I think this is one of the most useful features in CS, dont let this empty. Make notes like "partner [my galleries are on main page]" or "disabled! [no galleries of mine on TGP] or "2008 feb 08 - applied for PA"

Everyone should post here non-partner tgps that bring some traffic. I'll do the same thing, I'll start cleaning my database because I'm tired of manual submitting too. So people take all of your "working" tgps and post here|shocking|

I think it makes no sense to post not working/working TGPs here, the exposure is not so big and if we could leave permanent signs even if the error is not permanent at a tgp...

My idea is to reg a domain and make a nice site for this, and there post two TGP lists: fair play/not fair play.

However, several questions about this project: there should be a registration for webmasters to send in their "+" and "-" lists NOT the anonymous way. Also it would be nice to have some notes about the exact TGP like: "submitting for half year but never posted" or "submission appears on TGP regularly" and to have a date on these is a Must, so with time passing, a new review is necessary. This way TGP owners could fix their config and submitters could fix their CS/other submitter software settings too. And I think in a short time cheaters should receive less traffic and fair play TGP owners and submitters more (and quality should be better too)...
