Nice one horney. I too am fanatical about the apostrophe 's' when it denotes possession. It confuses many people. There is one great rule to remember: The apostrophe denotes ownership/possession. Put the apostrophe AFTER the owner/possessor.
Thus: one lover owns some wine: the lover's wine; but several lovers own some wine: the lovers' wine.
