PC problem, no curser except in safe mode

Everyone I know always has problems with Windows ME. I was working on my buddies computer, (the printer wouldn't work along with other assorted problems). I uninstalled and re-installed the printer drivers and it worked fine for a few days, but then stopped responding again so ME is out the window and all is well. I bought it a few years ago and had read that Microsoft had abandoned it before it even hit the store shelves.

Try re-installing it if possible (the OS) or even upgrade it to XP pro. A new OS is always a pain in the ass, but I have two machines one using 98SE and one using XP and the XP machine will run for days or weeks with out any problems. The 98 machine always needs to be restarted at least once every day or two.
