I used to never use them for two reasons: Lazyness and once in a while I'd get a linkcode in the SE index as a search result, seemingly by fluke. So I always using just the basic link codes without changing them from site to site (and hoping to get more of those flukes.) But getting those linkcodes in the SEs by accident is not that important anymore. I'd rather know where the sales are coming from. I started using campaign codes a while ago for all new projects and modified old ones to use their own campaigns. Now I can study the flow of traffic better and decide which projects should get special priority (in other words, which site is sending the best convertible traffic.)
