How long does it take you to create a unique post?

You guys are slackers. I have a lot of blogs and now we are working on building a large custom blog network for a client. I've been writing in a lot of blogs.

I have a system down pat, and I write posts for either two weeks or a month in advance. I'll hit one program, I quickly download the pictures to the same folder (called "today" really), and using Blogdesk I quickly add in the pictures. No big drama with cropping pictures; Blogdesk gives me a choice of three sizes and ( large, medium, and thumbnail which will even link it up to full sized photo ), select the categories it goes into, spell check, upload.... Then I delete the photos from drive using ACDC which is always up and on that folder I use.

Here's a typical post I did a few days ago. I'm using large photos that blogdesk crops down to 420 width, medium which is great for two landscape pix side by side, and thumbnails that link up the original.

Also.... I currently push something like 160 different sponsors, and I have different lists for myself, Cherry Pimps, and other clients. Blog desk has a great feature called "frequanty used phrases" where I store all of my links in HTML code so I can quickly just insert them in there.

I'm playing with this a bit. One thing that slows me down is that I often use images that I don't have in my affiliate area so I have to add the watermark and touch up the image from the original vid cap or nef file. No way to speed my nitpicky image editing habits.

Rochard of the Bunny Ranch I presume? (Amongst the 199 others!). If so, that's a fine blog you got there. That was one of the first blogs I checked out when I started doing this. My PR is still too low for a trade though.

I, like Walrus, have fairly high standards when it comes to writing (which is one of the reasons why I gave up on sponsor feeds many moons ago), but I can produce 100-300 words in a few minutes, assuming the muse (the gallery content) provokes me. That is, of course, the unedited version of a post. Editing a post takes me longer than its initial creation. But I have to be in the mood to write. Really good writers will sit and write even if nothing comes to mind. So I guess I'm not a really good writer. At least I can hold my head up high, knowing that I don't use exclamation points in an effort to forge a level excitement which goes unsolicited by my words.

Soooo..... I fail to see how THAT babelog could possibly be considered THE standard (or any standard) for adult blogging. On a true blog, more geography is covered with TEXT than with images. The idiotically liberal use of exclamations points is childish and simply put, bad writing. The moment a nifty header graphic becomes the most important aspect of a blog, I'm certain the Bunny Ranch will pop up amongst the top 50 pretty blog-wannabes.

Look, I'm not here to argue guy. Maybe the use of exclamation points is idiotic to you, but it can't be any more idiotic than flaming someone on a forum about some anal retentive observation of their grammar. The guy was simply trying to help people out by showing them ways that might help get their blogs done faster and more efficiently and your response was to insult his writing style. Honestly, who's the one being childish here?

That "babe blog" has inspired many people to get into blogging including myself. Sift through this forum a bit and you'll see what I'm talking about. If your blogs are capable of inspiring other people to create their own blogs than yes, that is what you call setting the industry standard. It's called leading by example.

On your word, I did sift through all 41 of his posts. Not all of them having to do with blogging and I must confess I did not see what you are talking about. Perhaps you can point me to the post that you and so many others found inspirational

Notice what blog this guy is using to set the standard for submissions of blogs on subdomains.

Those are just a few examples I've seen.

But whatever... I'll concede the point and agree that it's not the standard if you want. The guy still has damn good looking blogs and not just because of a "good looking banner". Regardless, that blog makes good money and that's all that really matters.

Anyhow, I'm done with this thread. If you guys want to bash other people who are just trying to give advice then be my guest.
