att cable,phone anyone using this?

So in my area they are now offering att cable, internet, and phone. Right now I'm using cox and am thinking about changing. The att too isn't a dish package. The tv part is waaaay better. For the same price I'm paying now I'd be able to record 4 shows at once and I'd get hbo, stars, cinamax, and showtime. With cox I'm only getting hbo and cinamax. (premium channels.) That and from my bedroom tv I'd be able to watch what's recorded on the dvr in the living room.

What I'm wondering about is internet speed. That's what I'm concerned with.

Is anyone using att as their tv, internet, and phone yet? Or at least internet? If so, what speed did you get and how are you liking it?

Smile Internet Speed

If you want Internet Speed, I doubt you'd be very happy with
DSL. We weren't! Cable is much faster.
Internet phone? Magic Jack is only about $20. a year and
we are happy with it.
Vonage - $25. a month vs Magic Jack - $20. a year? Hmmm.
What do you think?

Can't get fast DSL where I live so I have Comcast for internet. Comcast for TV sucks compared to DirecTV IMO so I have DirecTV for TV.

Vonage is fantastic compared to other phone services IMO so I have Vonage for my phone.

I think I want an actual land line. I'm willing to pay the $30 a month it costs to have this.

I'm more interested in hearing from people that have att service for their internet and how it performs. It is the dsl part that has me worried so that's why I'm asking about it. The one I'm looking at is the 12 or 18 Mbps download and 1.5 Mbps upload.

Vonage has features better then a real land line like simring (calls to my Vonage also ring to my cell phone at the same time) also the whole united states and then some is a local call.

Back to DSl... it really depends on where you live. Where I live the best DSL speed I can get is just over one meg on a good day. I had ATT ADSL and dumped it because of this. If I could actually get decent DSL speed then I would stop paying Comcast $80 bucks a month for its not so reliable service that on a good day I might get 5 megs download.

Cleo, you should check out ATT again as they are finally rolling out U-verse in Ft Laud

https://uverse1.att.com/un/launchAMS...ceabilityCheck

Not as good as Verizons fios to the door, but mucho better then any dsl (or cable)
Well the comcast business cable is sweet for internet at 2 meg up 16 meg down, but when you go that way you end up with the business package for tv too (course as you use direct tv as I do that may not be an issue)

Wink Actual Landline?

An actual Landline? Well, what do you think the difference is
between a telephone that plugs into a USB port and one that
plugs into Ma Bell's wall jack? The cost, that's it. The cost.

A cable ISP is the best and Direct TV is best for TV.

No love. I have an ATT land line (no phones plugged into it) that caries my backup earthlink dsl and checked that number with ATT. The best ATT says that can be installed here is their 3 meg which at one time I had but I never even got 1.5 out if it.

The copper in my neighborhood is really old as it was installed back in the fifties or maybe even earlier. Many houses here can't get DSL at all.

For me it isn't even that much about the cost but the convenience. I can plug my Vonage modem into anything that gives internet and I have my "land line". I could plug my Vonage modem into my laptop and sit at Starbucks taking on a regular phone. (not really sure why I would want to do that)
