hideous might be a big word
But Cleo is right (mostly is ) your links and text don't differ much with the background of your site..

For instance.. putting a purple link on a brown background isn't really wise
or putting light orange text on a yellow background isn't very wise either

The structure of your sites is ok in my opinion.. but hey, who am I
