Swine flu?

The CDC estimates 30k+ people die of "regular" flu a year, anyway. Bird flu, SARS, West Nile, Mad Cow Disease (not transmitted by a virus) didn't wipe out swaths of the population. We're still here. When we have something to be scared of we hit the reload button on Drudgereport and keep the television turned on. It's good for adverts.

Anyway, I've got a zombie epidemic to prepare for.

hell thats exactly what my kids say, but then they watch to many zombie movies on the movie channels!
