Hi there. How are you?
I've put together another blog video with VDub with some nice sponsor fades and will finish it down to H264 with a lower rate in Super once super finishes compressing my beautiful copy of Rose Red. <rant> I ripped this copy of Rose Red like I do all my videos so I can watch them when I work without digging through DVDs. When I ripped it I went for quality and the video ended up at 4+ gigs (its a long movie). Well, yesterday I bought a nice fat 1000 gig external HD for backups and in the interest of using it with my win2k box, my wifes soon to be XP laptop and my linux server I left it formatted as fat32. I knew, but paid no mind to the fact that the filesize limit of fat32 is 4gig minus one byte. So every time I tried to move it from my linux ext3 to the new external HD, I got an error "out of space". Meanwhile I'm looking at 900 Gig of free space and saying "WTF?". Finally I remembered why fat32 sucks, so now I'm stuck compressing a 4 hour movie into H264.. Did I mention I've had it up to here with Microsoft? </rant>
