I'm going to the backseat of my car with the woman I love, and I won't be back for TEN MINUTES
|
How would you spend $200 in this business?
Okay, I've started making some commissions submitting to a couple of free sites. About $200 this month.
I'm thinking of reinvesting this paltry sum into some partner accounts. Tommy's Bookmarks is like $100 for 1/year with 3 submits/day. There's a couple of others at similar rates, some for much more at around $100 every 3 days. Right now I only have money for maybe 1 or 2 partner accounts. I was wondering if these partner accounts are worth it? In other words, how would you spend your $200 in this business?

Tommy Bookmarks are definitely worth the money. Other suggestion go to Cleo's Porn Links
I you really want to read about some paid PA read Howling-Wulf Webmaster Blog but most of them accepting only galleries. You may also spend the money making an order for high quality free sites or galleries. Crazy Sy and Jester-X are the places where you want to go. Also you can buy expensive script like TGPX or TubeX and set everything on autopilot but that is other story. |

Thanks for the quick reply, pclit!
Those are some awesome links. In late september when I started getting into this again, I was really discouraged at all the dead links, whether it be content, vendors, or forums. Made me think adult webmastering was virtually dead. However, the fact that I made $200 without really trying too hard got me very excited. I want to leverage my business as much as possible, reinvesting as wisely as I can. You've really opened my eyes to some links I've never seen. The PA reviews at Howling are awesome. I love number crunching and that site really lays it out. The free site builders are nice too, and will be something to seriously consider when I can buy like 50 at a time. Jester-x is pretty sweet outsourcing resource, but again, maybe in a few months once I figure out which services I will really need and can quantify the time savings vs income. I got a couple of free scripts that can get me started for now. My friendlybitch site uses a toplist script, and I use robotgp for my tgp site. Still a bit of a learning curve. They are both a few years old and require a lot of tweaking. Not sure if I'm really gonna have time to monitor a tgp anyway. Thanks again!

Thanks for the mention! However, I would avoid the TGP gallery game if you were limited on starting $ or time. It's a daily grind (like most jobs) and $200 wouldn't be enough to buy a decent server, submit tools, and partner accounts. I would say the monthly minimum expenditure for TGP submitting would be about $400/mo and you should be able to get much more than that in return IF you submit every day. I've got it nailed down but for comparison I can submit 5 TGP galleries a day in about 2.5 hours. A newbie might take 2 or 3 times that in the beginning.
To your original intent, if I was you with free sites and $200 to invest (assuming you already have a server), I would first buy the Chameleon LL submitter to help with building the pages and recips. It also helps submitting manually and/or automatically. It's a huge time saver and expands your free site exposure. Tommys Bookmarks PA would also be a good purchase. You should also have some blogs/hubs to link back from your free sites. Those are ~$8 per domain and your time. Build a network where any surfer you catch will be able to find something on whatever niche he likes. |

@HowlingWulf
So it looks like the server should be my next investment? I'm using a shared hosting with "unlimited" bandwidth, but I understand there really no such thing. Right now I'm at about 60gig this month, no complaints from them yet. I feel like this is a chicken or the egg argument. Do I invest in dedicated server before I get traffic, or get traffic before the server? I found one adult hosting company that does (shared hosting) 400gig for $10. Would that be enough to start using chameleon? They have incrementally larger packages too. Also, when you say submit 5 TGPs in 2.5hours, do you mean 5 galleries to 100's of TGP sites? Or do you mean building 5 galleries from scratch then submit to a single partner account? Or is it some other combination? The chameleon LL submitter looks pretty awesome. I asked about it before but never got any feedback about it's effectiveness. Reading from your blog, I see that LL converted better for you. And thanks for that blog, it has some great examples and tutorials in it! BTW, I signed up with FTV from your link. Hopefully you get credited properly. @Ramster I really like what I'm reading about Tommy's so far. Thanks for added feedback on them. @everyone Right now I'm leaning towards getting Chameleon LL, Tommy's PA, setting up with the new hosting company with 400gig, then sending traffic from those to a single domain or two. Total investment should be less than $60. I may buy a free site template from Crazy Sy as pclit suggested, so I'd be up to about $85. Does this sound like a reasonable approach? I found some decent content at scarlett in the $8 range. Which brings me to my next question. With many vendors providing free content, am I going to get a high rejection rate using that free content? Thanks for all the feedback so far.

Before the recession I was submitting 2 or 3 per day with about the same results as now. Quote:
I very rarely get rejected with free content and I haven't bought content in years. I found I made more money when I promoted sites with exclusive free content anyway. Try to grab the freshest releases possible. |

@howlingwulf
Thanks for that detailed response. I'm starting to wrap my mind around the work that needs to be done. One more question on how you are submitting to tgps. Do you use an automated/semi-automated software? If so, which one? Or do you just use roboform? @Jeffrey Thanks for the feedback on Tommy's. @everyone I setup a new hosting with occ. Their homepage said 300gb for $6.95, then when I signed up, I found out it's actually 100gb. Everywhere else on their site says 100gb for $6.95, so they must have just missed that on the homepage. I'm not too upset, it's sorta my fault too. I'm looking at webair right now. Anyone else have a recommendation for virtual/shared hosting? I need to qualify that question with you must be using at least 300gb/monthly on average. Thanks.

I use Chameleon Submitter now. It's faster and easier than using making the pages myself and submitting in window frames with Roboform.

Have you considered blogs?
I'm a fellow newbie, only been in the biz about 3 months, but I'm getting a sale about every 4-5 days now. $200 would get you a nice chunk of domains. Find nice niched keyword domains, install wordpress, write 11 posts with 100-120 words, and 1-3 pictures per post, all linking to the sponsor. Link trade and/or join a building/linking project. The key is to get prime SE traffic. I'm finishing up my 50th blog, and will be doing some more domain buying and building the next batch of 10-15 blogs for the November project (a bunch of us are building blogs within the same 3 niches, and then we interlink them all to jump our SERPs for the keywords we're targeting). Run the numbers... 40 blogs that get 100 unique visitors per day from the search engines... 25% CTR to the sponsor = 40 * 25 = 1000 unique clicks to the sponsor each day. At a 1:1000 ratio (remember, this is targeted SE traffic for keywords specific to the niche/site you're promoting) you're getting 1 sale per day. I can build a blog in under 3 hours now... 1 blog per day is my normal workload, and then I also outsource the blog posts. So for every 3 blogs I write, I outsource 1 blog. |

@ed_banger
I've thought about buying some keyword specific domains. There's actually still quite a few good names available if you micro niche. Right now google does seem to give new domains good rankings based on the keywords in the name. One of my domains gets about 20-30 hits daily on a specific keyword, and is converting at around 1:200. Thanks for your feedback.

![]() Here is the stats for a blog of mine. Micro-niched. Domain registered: Creation Date: 08-oct-2009 Installed the blog software and wrote 8 posts on the 15/16th of october. Pinged it, linked it up to 10 of my blogs. And that's it. Here are the statcounter stats for this site: ![]() According to niftystats, the sponsor is getting 50-60 uniques each day (graph looks identical in shape) so this blog is getting almost a 50% CTR to the sponsor. This is the first blog I made for this particular sponsor... 402 uniques sent to the sponsor so far since launching the blog. I registered 3 domains to use for this particular sponsor. Once I get the other 2 set up, and if they bring in the SE traffic like this one, and if the sponsor converts at a decent ratio (1:1000 or better), I'll probably do another 5-10 blogs pushing this one sponsor. |

Hey, Ed.
How many different hosting companies are you using? I've read setting up the linkwheel requires at least 3 unique ips and private whois info. At HowlingWulfs blog, he goes into some detail his venture into blogging for porn. Good stuff.

Before you start buying a bunch of dedicated servers nyou better just try a shared one and when the traffic gets too much ad sales are on the same level then you can go dedicated. Burning bandwith is easy, making sales is another thing.

@fonz
Yeah, I'm going to start with virtual servers then ramp up as needed, assuming I'm getting sales to cover the costs.
