Moveing Sites ?

I know there was a thread on moveing sites not to long ago but I can't find it.
As much as moveing my sites scares the crap out of me it needs to be done (Surfin took your advice and went with cyberwurks).
My question is how do I check that everything is functioning properly pror to changeing the DNS

I'm not sure I understand your question. If you are asking how to check when the domain goes live, just type it in your browser. It should take no longer than 48 hours. So to be safe I would wait another 24 to start submitting/changing your links.

Did you mention my name to get your setup waived?

Surfin there wasn't any setup fee I just got a hosted account. I did put you down as the referrer.
Let me rephrase my question is there a way to check that everything is functioning correctly on the new server prior to changing the DNS?
I use Auto Gallery Pro on two of them and when I installed it some files had to be uploaded in binary and some in ASCII so I would like to make sure everything is working correctly prior to switching.
On my pay site I use verotel and they installed the script so I have no clue how that works just need to make sure it’s working right prior to going live on the new server.

They have very good tech support. Just put in a work order and it will be fixed in less than 24 hours. Or email Chris/conepuppy and he can get your needs met.

I would make a new folder for the new domain. Download all the files from my current server into that folder. Then just upload them onto the new server. That doesn't mean that you may not encounter problems, but it would sure minimize them.

What I’ve learned about moving to a new hosting company

My biggest fear was that my billing would get screwed up on my pay site, I use verotel. The new DNS propagated through sometime Thursday night no sales Thursday or Friday then 2 sales Saturday, one by CC one by Check the check seemed to go through but I got a email saying there was a technical problem with the credit card transaction I sent a support email to verotel (still no answer) then a check sale Sunday seemed to go through ok. Another CC sale this morning was cancelled because of technical problem, looked at my Verotel account and see the check transactions have been cancelled also. Got on the phone to verotel and find out that they need to change the server path when moving to a new server. (ARGH)

Cyberwurx has been great it took several emails and a phone call to get my e-mail setup (they called me) also emails to get .htaccess and MYSQL database setup and I couldn’t figure out the path to my root. One of those emails was at 3 in the morning and I still got an answer within 15 min. So I’m very happy with Cyberwurx..

I did have to screw around with file permissions. And said screw it and totally redid one of my hubs (it looks better now) and has the latest version of AutoGallery Pro.

I also got a rejection e-mail from Jennifer this morning she LOL at me all my recips on the free site were going to google somehow in the transfer I lost an </a>

About 5 or 6 months ago I was looking for someone to install a script for me and Cleo said I needed to learn how to do it myself (I’m sure I muttered something like Bitch under my breath at the time). Thankfully I took her advice otherwise I would have been totally lost through the move.
Cyberwurx A+ in my books
First problem with Verotel but they could take customer support lessons from Cyberwurx
