Actually that pic is just one of the small canals, not sure if it leads out to the ocean or not. It is in a neighborhood called Victory Park which is a few miles south of me. It is a very old, but very nice, neighborhood. Some of the houses are even made of wood which is no longer used to build houses here.

Not sure but what if your side is safer? I mean the water can be friend but enemy also..
