Hurricanes aren't that bad. We always get a few days notice so you can just leave if you want. I'm in an evacuation zone but I never evacuate. In fact I usually get lots of party goods and invite friends over for a hurricane party. When they show up for a free party is when they find out that they all get to help me put up the storm shutters which really is a pain in the ass to do. Especially since I've usually forgotten which shutter goes over which window. LOL

The house that I'm was built in the fifties so it has been through a bunch of hurricanes including hurricane Andrew which all of us passed out stoned out of our minds only to wake up to total destruction in my neighborhood but my house was fine. No electric for a week did suck big time.
