Differences between Free Sites and Galleries?

I am using less than 10% of the galleries from my free sites to submit them to select TGP's. That because in our days the conversions from TGP's are ridicolous, specially if you pay for the bandwidth. I am still using tgp posting when the sponsor is offering free hosting, but again, probably isn't worth anything for them, and I try to keep it at the minimum.
However, this is just my experience, and I am sure that other ppl can do quite well.
