If you want to keep spyware off your machine, surf with higher security, keep activex turned off, and never download anything that a page asks you to download.

And don't use "free" programs like kazaa.

This blocks most things.

It's a bit of a pain in the ass to set your browser to higher security, but it's less of a pain than getting scumware on your work machine.

Spybot is still the best free blocker and remover...
