Torn - if the leg span was that big it probably was not a recluse - their normal body size is 1/4 - 1/2" with legs streching out to the size of a quarter at the largest - usually about dime size.
Dont know if this would help http://entomology.unl.edu/images/spiders/spiders.htm but that large a spider in Florida wouldnt normally be dangerous - I remember some wolf spiders down there that were huge and looked nasty but they usually were mroe scared than the kids were  |
