![]() Hey good peoples...
I decided to build a gallery for a sponsor that I had not promoted before outside of a handful of hosted galleries on my little hub. It doesn't get much traffic, so I never really closely looked at the stats before. Well, I'm a little confused/concerned and I have yet to hear back from the sponsor support dept. So I decided to have you all tell me if these numbers were in the norm or not. They are not the norm within *my* experience, but I don't have a lot of experience. Okay, when I look at my server stats for this domain, Webair shows 6,943 visits, with 83,903 accesses. I need to add that on this domain, I have only built one other gallery, and I submitted it on 08/03/04. So I think I can safely assume that most of the traffic is because of the gallery I submitted yesterday/this morning. But when I login the sponsor stats and look, they show me as having 5 raw and 5 unique hits. Total for today. And I suppose I could be doing something, but when I click through to the join page, I do not see any change in the stats. Is this normal experience? So far, I really have primarily used two sponsors, and that because I use their free host space. I've been very tenative with paid hosting, because I do not want to take it up the ass on a bandwidth bill. But I do know that the galleries I have built for those two sponsors show many, many more hits than this is showing. Any words of wisdom are appreciated. ![]() |

Assuming that the majority of those 6,000-some visits are visits to that gallery, I would find the sponsor stats very odd. You should get more click-thrus than that by accident. But, as anyone will tell you, there are a great many factors. Quality of traffic and your sales ability being the top two. I don't know either, so I'm guessing the stats a tad off.

I think that a click through rate of 0,07% seems strange for a gallery, you should atleast have between 1 - 2.25%.
But is those 5 hits first page hits or second page hits? Some sponsors only gives you the second page hits for some odd reason. |

I've seen a sponsor shave hits and thus bringing your ratios down and making them look better. However maybe it's a legitimate glitch and that's not what that sponsor is doing.

Those numbers don't sound good to me. Neither does your hosting.

selena, first things first, check your gallery closely and make sure your link codes are 100% right on all links. Sometimes you can drop a single character and you won't get credit.
Second off, check to see how your sponsor counts clicks. First or second page, unique or raw, etc. Second page unique calculated every 72 hours would give you a low click number ( and a high conversion). finally, I would say you might want to look at your traffic sources versus the content of your gallery. I noticed recently that for the same traffic sources I used, "THIS" type of gallery/ site generated way more clicks than "THAT" gallery - even with the same layouts etc. Just the content changed and the results were different. ![]() Unless you meant that I use sponsor space for some galleries. I'm pretty happy with that, too. No way I could/would submit to the Hun at this point in my career if I had to pay the transer bill. Thanks to all of you. At least I know that I'm not off the mark in thinking these stats are strange. I'll just sit tight, and see what that sponsor support says when they return my mail. And in the meantime, I'll just build a gallery for someone else. ~toddles off to bed, up waaaaay past my bedtime~ |

Well, that is one thing I asked their support to do, was check the accuracy of the link. I examined it, and don't see any problem. But I sure have been known to make mistakes. As I told mist, they really don't say how they count clicks. Or if they do, I am totally overlooking it. Which, again, could be happening, I suppose. As to the layout and content comments, I am pretty much comparing apples to apples, I think. Femdom content, submitted to the same submit list, that is either niche specific, or general tgp's that list me pretty regularly. I have my submit list broken down pretty minutely...ie, this femdom will take straight bdsm, this bdsm will take stocking fetish, etc. So where I've sent it is the same. The only thing really different on my part is this gallery that is doing poorly is on paid hosting. The layout likely is as well, because I try not to fall into the template rut. I can't post it to have it critiqued, because I can't do that without showing the sponsor, and I'm not comfortable with doing that. I hope all that makes sense. I'se one sleepy selena. ~ ![]() |
