Hi, Dangedave board nazi: challange to move this to the TGP topics! Every second person on this board is using AGP

Published today: JMB bought Nextgp, a very good script which was released somtime in April/May this year. Nextgp has a decent gallery checker and better thumbnail feature. A friend of mine is using it on his site and is rather happy with it.

Hey George

Firstly you and every other person that cant post in the right forum need to learn a bit about posting.

Secondly if anyone of you had a brain you would know that I DON'T move topics, and I can't and I won't... Guess what I am NOT a moderator on the main board!

I am a bit sick and tired of this deliberate and provocative posting of off topic subjects in the main forum... but this is GG and J's board and they make the rules not me.

You posted in the wrong forum knowing that you were posting in the wrong forum, WTF.

I could see this thread going in software or TGP, but not in General Business and FYI lots of the board members do not use AGP.

Someone wanting info on TGP scripts would go to the TGP board so that is were it is going.

As you can see I didn't start labelling Dangerdave a 'board nazi'...
With both threads I was certain they were of general interest - but I will simply crawl back into my cage and refrain from passing on tid-bits of information which (I think) are of general interest - will save me a lot of time - and it wasn't me who stuck out his stinke-finger first, either, so

...not the first time the rubber rules (because they really aren't straight lines) upset a poster

To me this belongs in the TGP Forum. If JMB or Nextgp wants to inform their current users, I'm sure they have an email list.

DangerDave does not have the ability to move threads - he is the moderator on our SE board - he does this because I asked him to be a moderator on there, seeing as Jim & I have a very limited knowledge of SE stuff.

Just 4 short things to this:

1. I was not at all interested in starting a fight or conciously braking any rules

2. if somebody sticks their finger up at me I get angry = that's not my style to communicate and seems to me more appropriate to the "other board" (gfy).
I had the finger stuck out at me first = I didn't start it!

3. as I said before: both threads I considered of being of general interest - more so than a lot of the crap there is in the "General Knowledge" section.

4. but since there seem to be different rules for different people (the ones who can come to shows, shake hands and socialise, and the ones who live too far away), and one person has the right the insert needless Apple propaganda into any thread with hardware/software questions, and one (me!) who's been taken for a hard ride due to a miss-judgement (it wasn't anything else!) - then YES

I remember on the 'old board' (before your database crash) there was a thread where somebody asked a question re. mouseovers in AGP links - on the "General Knowledge" section (NOT ON THE "TGP" PAGE!), I went out of my way to look for bits of code and came up with a simple solution which helped that guy a great deal! On the TGP section or worse, the Programming section, I would have never found this thread... But never mind: if the importance of the right drawers comes before usefullness...


I will keep my "Cheater Post" sort-of-alive - and that's it!

TGP Scripting problems, questions or suggestions BELONG in the TGP Forum.

It's not "General Interest" it's "General Business" - if it's business related & doesn't into one of the other forums, then that is where you post it. I'll admit that there are lot of 1st time posters saying "Hello!" & whatnot on the General forum, but other than that, the posts are all along the guidelines that we have set in place. If we find a post that should be in another forum, we put it there.

The only "different rules for different people" are applied to Jim, myself & our advertisers - NO ONE ELSE! To say that we have different rules for people we've met is just plain fucking ignorant.

In short - you don't like the rules, then by all means find another board
