My father actually suffers from Schizophrenia. Its not like what tv would lead you to think. He actually functioned in the world better than me and even held a factory job long enough to retire. He would have episodes that would lead to him either admitting himself or being placed into the hospital by others. These episodes would manifest themselves in different ways. Some being like depression while other times he would go into a total stupor with the worst leaving him in a catatonic type state. Pretty sad stuff really.
