Nice cars! I don't drive but ride in the passenger seat of a 2000 Grand Prix (sp) I know nothing about cars, or really care what we drive in. Have had a lot of cars that always get us there and back but don't look so hot! Now that the kids are grown we are thinking it's time to change, and indulge ourselves in a nice truck. One that is brand new this time, as we've never owned a new one

Well I'm boring with a 2001 Malibu. But the wife does want a new car this spring/summer as 1 car just isn't enough. Not sure what we'll buy.

Some very nice rides in this thread

Love the jeeps domain...lol. Have had a few jeeps over the years...fun vehicles!

Turned out today was car wash day, so all mine got bathed...snapped a few pics while they were out in the driveway.

Vehicles de Yum

Must be pointed out (or she'll hit me!)...the TransAm is my girlfriends baby. The Avalanche is an 02 with about 32k on the clock...great SUV/Truck. Only vehicle I've ever owned (and there's been LOTS)...that I kept when the original financing term ran out.

The bike is Elvira...damn, what a machine!

Thanks Lisa...this neighborhood and especially the back side of the property sold me on this house. I absolutely love living here. It's a small city about 25 miles south of Sarasota on the gulf side of the state. Perfect time of year now...80 during the day...60 at night...blue skies and lots of sunshine

Yea Surfn, I've always traded in vehicles about every 2 or 3 years. Not this one...the lease just ran out and I bought this sucker. Comfortable full size SUV...that converts into a full sized truck...very versatile and comes in handy frequently

Love the jeep Simon! Those old CJ's were sweet rigs

I honestly dunno what it would be like not to own a vehicle or two Swed...think I might blow a gasket or something ... lol. But, there really aren't any significant parking issues around here either.

You just have to make sure that your vehicle is "winterized" You would need a block heater, antifreeze rated up to -35 to -40 Celsius (-31 to -40 F)... snow tires and a remote starter (not obligatory, but nice, very nice to get into a warm vehicle and the ice has melted off the windshield.)

Today wasn't car wash day... still might do that later on if I can find a willing assistant. Nice examples of ways to get around y'all!

Am I the only one that has given up on that thing called car?
I ditched mine after I realized that I paid more in parking fines than gas every month (and gas in Sweden is NOT cheap). Sucks living in the middle of the city.
So nowadays I stick to a great pair of shoes, my MTB and car rentals when I need to go further than my bike can take me.

when I was living in Bolivia I had a fun little 50cc scooter. All you had to do was let sniff gasoline and it would run forever. I also did plenty of walking and took the bus, when I was feeling lazy.

Sweden must have some pretty severe winters, kudos to you for biking and walking in the cold! =D

If I had no car nor truck nor motorcycle, I would be doing a lot of walking everyday. We are a small town and our closest grocery store is about 10 mins by car from here And I would have to "borrow" a shopping card and look like a bum pushing it home We have no mass transit.

yeah... times like this I miss living back in Bolivia. I spent 14 years there and left because the politics were a tad unstable, so I came back to my home country wher I am now freezing my ass off... and have been freezing my ass off for the past nine years.

Yikes...yea, I can certainly understand the need to 'get outta dodge' with regards to Bolivia

That so sucks man...9 fuckin years? Dayum...important stuff's gotta start freezin and falling off eventually yanno? Might be time to 'get outta dodge' again

Florida has so fuckin spoiled me...I start complaining when it drops below 60

yeah... I don't plan on leaving here until my kids are out of high school and living on their own (to some degree)... that will be another seven years or so.

After that I will consider moving to a warmer country! =D

Definitely not a cold weather vehicle right now. I'm going to have to rebuild my CJ a little if I take it to the mountains with me (when I move). Not only did I have the a/c removed a while ago, but I did the same thing with the heater. It seems like I'm always looking for something I don't need that I can get rid of. I think I'm a minimalist at heart.

Or I could just get a winter Jeep to keep my summer one company.

Swedguy - Yes, down in Key West it was all about walking or bicycles. Lots of scooters down there, though I never had one. Now that I'm up the Keys a bit, there's not much in walking distance anymore.

When I lived in Manhattan in the 80s I realized was paying more to park one car than it would cost me to rent one whenever I wanted, so I sold the car and did cabs and rentals for awhile. Then I fell for a '58 Bentley S1 and wound up paying for parking again. (Actually I wound up paying for parking two cars, but that's another story).

I've been driving the same butt ugly '93 Volkswagen Passat Break for 7 years now. Last week I pulled out (read broke) the handle of the left rear door. Maybe it's time to get me a new set of wheels. Donations are welcome

Just bought a F350 Crew Cab Dually 4X4 to pull the growing number of horses. As mentioned also own the bus Suburban 4x4 to haul all the kids and all their crap. When we want a smooth ride and alot less gas, drive the dodge caravan.
