What utility could you recomend to do batch watermarks ?

If you use content you have bought exclusive or non-exclusive, I would even recommend to mark them to prevent them from getting stolen.
Thumbsplus has a marking function which you can use in a batch as well.
Photoshop does it as well, but I find thumbsplus easier and faster to set up the batch.

Basically any mark on the picture which states the site name/URL or something similar. The name "watermark" is a bit missleading since it's derived from it's original use in papermaking... You know: the more expensive paper which has an almost invisible mark which you can only see when you hold the paper against the light - that was done with a special stamp integrated in the paper mesh (where the pulp's pressed and dried).

Rejections for Watermarks: no, I can't think of any time (submissions, etc.) I had any problems with marking my pictures, and I believe I was one of the first sites to put my domain name onto all pictures - back in 1997!
Partly to get traffic, partly to protect content, partly to build a name for my site.

Though - my mark is rather small(-ish).


There's a really good German (but in English) freeware program which does batch processing and and semi-transparent watermarks, but I can't remember the name or URL (try a Google search).
