Cleo - Non listing question...

Hey there. When I posted earlier on this board, the only problem you mentioned w/ my site was the banner on the main page looking like clickable thumbs. I changed that, but when I submitted to your site, you rejected saying you couldn't find the link to gallery 1 on http://www.causefuckemthatswhy.com/f...ttney/main.php

(it's above the banner.)

Which of the following would be best. I don't want to make it too noticable (and I thought it was fairly noticable the way it is, but hey, it's your list, and I want to keep you LL guys happy. I like your traffic.

Anyway, which one of the following would be cool, or would any of them being cool?

1. Making the type slightly larger.
2. Making the type a different color.
3. Centering the link over the ad table, rather than left aligning it.

Thanks.

I'm not the one that reviewed your site, but that link is kind of hard to find. In fact when I took a look the other day when you posted your site on the board I thought you just hadn't added your other gallery link yet.

Your site is pretty spammy looking with that huge text all over the place and the banner on the main page still looks like it has clickable thumbs.

Grr. This is free site stuff is slightly harder than I'd thought it'd be.

In looking at my first free site, I thought the links were too subtle, so I tried going in the other direction. Perhaps I went too far. In a second look (the next morning), the text links do look a little, um, extra tacky. I'm gonna keep them the same color, but drop the size a little bit. And I'll put the first gallery link under the ad table, in a more traditional location. And then I'll submit again.

I'm sure everyone says this, but I'm really trying my hardest to learn this free site thing, so I can make 30 good templates that work w/ you guys, and get me a sale or 2.

Thanks for all your patience.

Hmmm. I've gotten a few other thumbs down. I think I did try too hard for the "ugly" look.

Before I start getting creative, I guess I should just try successfully emulating some of the more standard "boring" type designs that I see on the bigger lists.

I had started a little project last week, and abandoned it. I may restart it. I went through Cleos, Link-o-rama, Penisbot and clicked through the more recently accepted ones, and picked out designs I liked best. Then I sketched the basic design on a piece of paper, w/ different colors, red for banners, green for text links, blue for non linked text, orange for non linked pics, purple for site nave (enter, gallery one, etc) black for gallery thumbs, etc.

Try to learn the standard forms. I guess it's better to "emulate" before I try to create. Thanks again for the patience, guys.
