Yo, yo, yo!

What's the best gallery plugin for WordPress? I've looked at a couple, quickly, and haven't been overly impressed. What do you use?

I've never been able to find one I like enough. I just keep a long html page with a lot of different thumbnail layouts sized to fit in the main blog area. I choose a layout based on the sizes and dimensions of the original pics then I use the Automator application (comes with Mac) to easily rename pics and make thumbs in whatever sizes are needed for the layout I choose. Copy and paste plus a grep script or two to massage data and I have a gallery.

That's far too much effort, Simon. The gallery plugin is for a mainstream furniture site that I want to migrate over to WP. I banned WP from my work for several years, but I sort of like it again. It's easy and I'm tired of making things difficult on myself.

I have been using next gen gallery for several years now and it works nicely. It's also updated regularly which is great. I've had to ditch several plugins a few WP updates ago because they were no longer compatible.
