Anyone else watching the Alamo Bowl and if so, is this officiating not the worse you have ever seen? I have never seen so many bad calls, no calls and slow calls in one game before, it’s like none of the refs want to be the one that has to make a call. It is so bad even the announcers are making fun of them. This group of refs are from the Sun Belt Conference and I think they need to go back there and let the BCS schools have a real officiating crew.

Seattle is the team to beat in the NFC. Carolina might have a chance, the Giants if they are lucky and Chicago just maybe since Grossman is playing now and they actually have an offence to stay up with their awesome defence.

I agree with the Seahawks, Panthers and Giants but the Bears? Really?

Saw the desperate Chargers pull off the unthinkable yesterday and to be honest, it could have gone either way. Great game though. Based on how the Steelers have faired this year, they are just one more big hit away on Roethlisberger from having their quickest off season in a while.

I admire Roethlisberger. Great command of the offense and a hell of a leader from the get go. I think a Superbowl is in his future at some point in time.

You make a valid point but I feel that there are stronger teams that appear to be hungrier, more disciplined and that can play 60 minutes consistently. You can't go through a season and lose to Baltimore and Cleveland and think your worthy to hoist the Lombardi trophy. From what I've read, he's opted out of season ending surgery as well. Even though Denver screwed me in week one of the suicide pool, I still like them and the Colts to meet for the AFC Final and only a HOT Patriots team would have something to say about that. In the NFC, I hope the Seahawks emerge victorious but I also like the Panthers chances.

bless you.

But I think we need some better cornerbacks before the blitzing style defense can return to the effectiveness it once had. |goodidea

Keeping all my fingers and toes crossed as the Falcons take on the Bucs this weekend. Bucs seem to have the Falcons number as of late winning the last 4 out of 5. Better cross my “balls” as well. . . . . . Ouch! never mind.

From what should have been the best season for Dungy has just turned into a nightmare.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2268593

James Dungy, the 18-year-old son of Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy, was found dead at 1:30 a.m. ET Thursday in his apartment in Lutz, Fla., a suburb of Tampa, Debbie Carter, a spokesperson for the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, confirmed Thursday.

Oh man that’s awful. I agree Pornrex, news like that just gives you a sick feeling in your stomach. I have two sons 17 & 19, and I can imagine the pain he’s going through.

I remember watching Bucs' games and his son retrieving the T and helping him on the sidelines. Not sure it's the same son, but the timing & age seem about right.

Puts football into perspective. What a horrible thing to have it happen, especially at this time of year and to one who seems to be a generally good guy.

I just heard it also! Tony Dungy is a great dad, does a lot in this area with father and son get togethers. His son was on the sidelines with him alot. Wow the holidays, the playoffs what a horrible time for this to happen. Damn this world

I do not think this is the same son, the one on the sidelines has long hair, this one doesn’t (unless he got it cut off in the last 2 weeks) and if I recall they had a story about the son on the side lines (Scott I want to say is his name) was 14 and in a round table of other NFL coaches they was talking about how involved they are in the game during the game and Tony told the story that a asst coach came up to him during a game and said "Scott is ok", Tony said "OK....Scott who?" Turned out Scott was his son who got nailed by a player forced out.

I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure he had more then one kid. Either way this is terrible news.

“The coach and his wife, Lauren, have four other children: daughters Tiara and Jade, and sons Eric and Jordan. James was taking extension classes at the University of South Florida, Morgan said.”

Ok, so I am terrible with names… so it wasn’t Scott.

"James stood 6-foot-7 and was sometimes mistaken for one of his father's players, The Indianapolis Star reported on its Web site. James and his younger brother Eric sometimes watched Colts games from the sideline, but they had to earn it by doing well in school."
