6 hours of moderate pain followed by 3 or 4 days of being annoyed followed by years & years of not having to worry about glasses or contacts is well worth it IMHO.
I know it would be worth it, I'm a bit chicken in as far that if they screw up my left eye with the surgery, I'm fucked because my right eye depends on my left eye to see, so I'd be blind for real. But I think the success rate is a lot higher now then when it first came out. I'd so love to not wear glasses all the time. I have nightmares about my glasses breaking and being blind, kinda like that one twilight episode.

I also didn't know they could do it again if you eye site changes, so maybe they could even fix my aides eye.

I have worn glasses since I was 6 years old. I am blind without them...except for really close up. Yesterday I had to read really small words and I couldn't until I took my glasses off. So much for bifocals.

I got lasered a number of years ago, went from effectively blind to actually what was 15/20 (a little too good, wasn't right) and now I am about 40/20 or so, which is very comfortable.

I have noticed though in the last couple of years that close stuff is starting to get harder to read, but I attribute that more to a standard "getting old" rather than anything else.

I am starting to squint at my screen more than usual. I wonder if it's old age catching up to me (Heh, I'm 31) or if I stare at the screen too much.
