Some programs like Electrabucks closed shop without paying what they owed me (less than minimum payout but still...)

Sponsors should let you cash out if you did not reach a minimum after some time if you wish. Or at least they should let you close an account and get paid. Otherwise I see them as dishonest trying to keep your hard earned cash in their pockets.
I wuld love using ccbill but they do not pay epass which is a must for me

This is a pretty interesting thread...I haven't signed up for a lot of ccbill programs because I'm not a big fan of their affiliate links and when I was first signing up for ccbill programs I didn't find very good affiliate resources...so I try to stick with programs that promote several niches so I can try and promote a limited number of programs instead of every affiliate program on the market...it seems to be working out...I'm also afraid to sign up for EVERY program out there because I still wonder what happens to my personal information when the program dies out...

While I detest minimum payouts and wish they would go away, I cannot agree it is dishonest. I mean, this information is not hidden from us when we start promoting a sponsor, is it?

I do wonder about honeymmon sales, however as I didn't realize others were experiencing the same. It would be interesting to compare notes and see if the same sponsors names came up....

I know its not hidden, I don't mean legaly dishonest, more like moraly dishonest if you know what I mean. The minimums are good - they help sponsors avoid cheaters, save time for payout processing and so on. However they could be more flexible, for example when I see sponsor with a minimum of 200$ I just think that they wanna keep as much money as possible from those who does not make that minimum

I guess I'll drop a bunch of sponsors.

After reading the whole thread the I am thinking of the following things:

- Nobody mentioned any suspicious sponsors
- If there is "honeymoon" signup it means modding NATS data is very easy and its a common practice at some sponsor to keep affils alive
- If sponsors cheat it is the same crime as an affil is cheating
- Only ONE sponsor rep posted in this thread...

Nasty...

Then basically the bottom falls out. Hits sent are equal or greater to when I generated sales, but any other sales seem to become pretty much non-existent. Of course I am always just below the minimum payout threshold, so I don't get paid! I have also noticed that sponsors are raising the minimum payout thresholds. I guess pretty soon you will have to make over $1000 to get paid.
There is one sponsor that I generated a sale 3 years ago and hasn't generated anything since, so they have held on to my measly $30 or so for the last 3 years. I am sure this is the programs way of making money by holding on to it as long as they can (or even forever), but I believe that after a certain period of time (ex. 6 month) they should payout even if you haven't met the threshold. I may be unrealistic here since buyers are unpredictable people, but it just seems fishy that you do so well in the beginning, but then fall flat on your face just before it is time to be paid!

In the last 6 years I've noticed sponsors getting more and more dishonest as the market gets more saturated.

My 2 cents

Honeymoon sales, I love it, never heard of it myself. I've seen this happen SO many times and same thing with other webmasters, sure makes me wonder.

It's like you get sales to think it's a good program and you'll push it more, then, it's almost like the shave machine is turned back on. What else could it be? Part of it could be the newness of the sponsor to your traffic, but when you don't make any more sales for a long time, something is not right.

I can understand having a minimum payout, it costs money to make checks, payroll expenses, ect. Although I've never seen $200 or more, thats just crazy. The again, a program could have a lot of extra cash they never have to pay out. Sure makes you think.
