and about the lower dollar, hell tell me about it...when i started this bizz 6 years ago i got for 100 dollars 115 euro, now for 100 dollars i get what 70 euros..... now thats not the only part, i have for cost about 600 dollars a month for hosting and domain renewal and thats not all, all i earn i have to pay 52% for taxes in holland, so for every dollar i get half back with taxes pulled off, now do you realy think i would stay in this bizz if i earn a little naaaaaaaaaaaaa? there is alot of money to make for foreing and not foreing people, why? because you can reach the whole world if you use english text....good english or not

But it does explain why so many foreign people dont make it in this bizz ...well i think that way

alot of foreign people try this bizz, also alot get hit on the facted they dont write properly english...i blame it on the bathroom submitters they fuck up for the others who realy wanna try, not all get a chanse that a good speaking english guy help them out in this bizz..or show them the way to walk or learn them all or double check their sites before it goes alive. I still believe some are realy trying. But i also believe alot of people think to easy about this bizz...most still believe its easy money..which isnt the deal.

This is very complicated issue. It can't be explained with generalisations and "black or white" arguments.

There are countries where it can be done - Germny, France, Spain,... with less financial risk involved
There are countries where it would be extremely difficult to do - eastern Europe - low salaries, small number of people online, reduced payment options, bad reputation (frauds).

There are other factors involved:
1. English is de facto official world language today.
2. People hardly read text when it comes to porn. It's visual entertainment. If your English is poor you can get away with it if your tits are nice.
3. It's easiest to do English sites because all neccesary things are there - demand, developed market, quality sponsors, variety of payment options... If you opt for non-English sites you have to develop much of those things yourself which spells much more work. It would be fine if it would guarantee more income - but it doesn't.

While we are on this topic, here are a few things which I must live with just because I'm from Serbia:
1. About 50% of affiliate programs don't accept WMs from my country, and those programs are all good and reputable.
2. My reputation was tarnished by fraudsters even before I decided to do this business. How many of you really would trust me, even if I am a member of this board for several years?
3. I couldn't get a credit card until 2002.
4. I can't open Paypal account because my country is not on the list ( eBay is out, too)
5. I can't open Epassporte, too.
6. 4+5 means that I can't get submit passes to TGPs which require funds from mentioned accounts.

No complaints here, I know perfectly well the reasons for these problems. It's just a reminder how different my work is in comparison to WMs from US, UK, etc.

Now to the point - I don't sell porn in Serbia for exactly the same reasons that are the cause of my problems.

johnnybg - you're another one of the foreign webmasters that if you didn't tell me (or have Serbia & Montenegro as your location) I'd have no idea that English was not you native language. I'd trust you (to a point, but only because I do not personally know you - meaing you're not getting my FTP info anytime soon - lol)

I actually do both but i'm fine with the English because im actually from Australia.. I have 1 Dutch and 1 US blog at the moment but im adding 1 of both.. Dutch traffic is easier to convert but its harder to get, US traffic is easier to get but harder to convert. So it's more intresting to do both. As of your question why all the non-english webmasters make english websites, the answer is quite simple. Everybody finds US pages on google and most big porn sites are US, so people get the impression that the US porn industry is the easiest to make $$ in. If that statement is wright or wrong is an entirely different conversation ^^

On a more serious sidenote this thread has given me some ideas. Maybe Swedish online porn is a goldmine, I honestly never even thought about it. I refuse to leave the English-speaking market though; if ABBA and IKEA could do it, then so can I!

Alright, I meant to post much sooner but for some reason I didn't find the time to do so.

I have to agree with Schpork that dutch traffic converts MUCH better than English traffic but is a lot harder to get probably because there are a lot of dutch speaking webmasters and webmaster programs for only so much potential customers. I work with a company that managed to get it's fair share of dutch traffic over the years and is doing pretty good now on the dutch market but if you have to start from scratch you really have to know what you're doing. There are a lot more resources out there that handle about English sites and English traffic so I can see why most people take that route.

And hey, if I was someone from some eastern european (no offense) country and 1 signup would make me as much as I could make in a week with a normal job. I'd be putting together a ton of sites in crappy English and throw them online even if they converted 1:10,000

So Greenie, you still keep claiming I speak with an accent now do you?
