I actually had a "hissy fit" last Wednesday when I read about the "Greek Parthenon" setting Obama was going to have at his speech (And I am still shocked that it was not spinned the way I was scared it would be, but that just proves how good that speech really was) and I read that McBush was going to have a woman VP, I totally thought it was going to be Hutchinson and IMHO, if it was, we would have 4 more years of McBush, but now I am confident we will get change and not more of the same.

In the future, this "well thought decision" will be McBush's Waterloo.

I don't want a pitbull with lipstick anywhere near me or my country's highest office.

I'd look forward to a woman as president or vp someday, but I really would prefer one who brings more of the female side to the equation. As far as I'm concerned we really don't need a woman who thinks that standing up like a man and attacking your opponent(s) is even the way to govern herself.

Where the hell are all the real women?

I miss them.

I watched the speeches over the past couple of days and it's unsettling how the entire Republican strategy just seems to be attack, attack, attack, with no one addressing the important issues (economy, jobs, education, health care, Iraq & Afghanistan, etc.) that will make life better for all of us.

What's even more unsettling is watching all the delegates jumping up and down with joy and glee listening to all this negative crapola. Do they really understand what's going on around them?

Based on the many commentaries and op-ed pieces I've read, the media seems to be able to see through most of this, but I wonder how the average joe on the street is taking it all in?

Is it really possible that the only things most Americans care about is abortion, guns, and religion? I truly hope we're smarter than that, or at least have learned something from the last eight years.

I suppose we'll find out in a couple of months...

she is an utter dissapointment to all of the america...has anybody heard her latest interview on CNN where she say "energy is the foundation stone of our security..." she seriously lacks some political understanding

If she did say that energy is the foundation stone of our security, then there's a lot of truth to that and it's certainly an arguable point.

What turns me off to her is her ultra-conservative, religious fundamental viewpoints. She clearly wants to tell us all how to live our lives, when it doesn't even work in her own home.

It's the typical Republican "do as I say, not as I do" bullshit.

no! i really didnt like the context to which she said that... the interviewer asked her..if she is elected how she is going to do for the national security?
she replied to that.. we at alaska didnt like what russia is doing to georgia. and from a point in alaska we can see russia, as a governer of alaska i have trying to focus on the energy conservation...
the interviewer inturrupted her that he has asked about the national security.. then she replied "energy is the foundation stone of our security..."
that came as a surprise event to the person interviewing her... i know they all are linked to each other, but we expect a precise and to the point answer from a VP candidate

If she'd said that our reliance on failed foreign policies and serious and significant lack of real intellect in the highest government positions in recent years has put us in the position where, unfortunately, it's gotten to the point where our national security actually has energy as a critical foundation stone... well, never mind, she probably couldn't have memorized more involved soundbites or they'd have given her some.

But seriously, I hope the democratic machine is smart enough to STOP paying any attention to the bright, shiny object* the republicans are dangling for them.
