I gave a quick update in the morning thread but here is the longer version.

All of us were surprised yet very happy when we heard she would be released from the hospital yesterday. She got home around 4:00PM and seems to be doing ok. She does have an open surgery wound that we have to care for and of course, she has no colon. So we have to do everything that goes along with that. We were asked to go to Memorial Sloan Kettering by ambulance Monday. But, we are still thinking about it. She really doesn't want to go into the hospital unless she absolutely has to. If we don't go Monday, it will probably be Wednesday. We, including her local doctors think we should wait until she heals more. But, the good news is that we are going back to NYC.

I think that's it for now...

Good News Jim
I don't blame Vickie a bit for not being in a hurry to go back in the hospital.
A good friend of the families had his colon removed and it didn't slow him down a bit, he water skied, rode horses and hunted hard for 20+ years with no colon.

That is good news, Jim, and very good to hear it too.
A little rest and Vicky will be ready for NYC.
And I know stories like Pat mentioned too.
