Do tools like this work and are they worth the money?

As someone new at this who is doing a lot of research I hoping to get the boards reactions to the tool below, a professional search engine optimization. Do they work? Are they worth the money? If so, which are the best ones? Below is just a cut and paste from their web site, not an endorsement. Just trying to provide an example. Thanks for the help, Bill.

As far as I'm concerned they do more harm than good.

Bill... short answer is NO!

If these people could actually do what they say they do.. they would be No.1 for every keyword, and therefore would not have to sell their services. It defys logic!

May work...but why pay?

Don't pay for something that you can be done easily yourself, besides they can't guarantee you anything.

Basically to optimize your site you need to target 2-3 keyword phrases. Put those keywords in your title and description and make sure you use them throughout the text on your content pages and just wait for the SE to pick up your site.

After they do, if you have a detailed stats tracker, It will tell you which keywords surfers are using to find your site. Then you concentrate on those keywords by tweaking (adding more of your keywords) your content page text.

It worked for me , My site http://www.getnpaid.com moved up from "nowhere to be found" to #2 on Yahoo

Google is a different story however...

Hope this helps

Search a bit further, there are some great free tools online! Things like keyword-analizers, and the like (just can't remember current urls - in the old days it used to be websitegarage.com, but I believe they turned commercial and then disappeared) - these things can be very usefull if you know/understand what do do next!

I also paid at some stage a few bucks (something like <$5) for a professional search engine submission by Ineedhits.com and it showed good results (I was actually surprised!) - many people shy a way from these services, too!

There's a site to try some free tools: http://www.netmechanic.com/ - that used to be the big competitor of websitegarage (hence the name I guess).

it's better to study for 2 days some search engine forums and you'll can make all they offer you for your moneys. Perhaps you'll get some special knowledges or at least truth trend and get better results than just ordering optimisation services...
