Remote Blogging? Watch out for this LibXML bug...

If you have a network of blogs and you post to the blogs remotely via a Weblog Client, like Windows Live Writer, Blog Desk, Blog Writer etc, or, like me, you use your own script to post remotely via xml-rpc, then you may want to double-check your recent posts.

libxml-2.2.7.xx appears to have a bug in it which strips angled brackets (< & >) when posting to blogs via xml-rpc. This renders html in the post utterly meaningless and the post becomes plain text gibberish like raw code.

The solution / workaround we found was to downgrade libxml to 2.6.32 & you may need to rebuild php.

If you post to WordPress from the blog's AdminPanel then this probably doesn't affect you.
