Season almost over
Good day everyone
Is it just me or does anyone else feel sick to there stomach being that there is only one more game and the NFL season is over for the year? Now there is no hockey, and if I ever really need to sleep I guess I could watch baseball but....it will be major withdrawl for the next 6 months. Ouch |

I've been going thru Fantasy Football withdrawal for a few weeks now
I found last year that Nascar is a nice little option on Sundays, but I don't think I watch a complete race once football started back up again |

Me too
And the fact I did not make the fuckin playoffs...again, just bites. You know I had Alexander and he had the most tds this year, the fucker also had 4 weeks under ten points. On a 14 week season that just don't cut it. And then having Moss go down for like 5 weeks...bitch, bitch, bitch. |pissed

baseball makes ned flanders look downright wild.
The NHL might be a done player soon... fialure to have a season this year basically puts them in never never land. There will be pro hockey, I am just not sure that it will be NHL pro hockey anymore. Anyway, dumb question: The players are on strike / locked out. How come they are able to go play (and get paid to play) in other leagues? Doesn't that effectively blow off their standing? Alex |

Hey Alex
I agree with the NHL league it could very well be done, and I think the players are royally fucking themselves, greedy bastards. They are a bunch of scabs as well. I guess it is ok for them to take jobs away from guys across seas and minor leagues..but how dare the league get replacements for the NHL, greedy bastards. And about baseball honestly, take about 80 games out of the MLB season and I think it would be more exciting, as each game might mean a little more. Just for comparison NFL has 16 games and MLB has 162 games. Lose a game in NFL and is comparable to 10 games in the majors. |

MLB should start in may, run until late august, and have a reasonable playoff system that allows at least 16 teams to get into the deal. That would create interest and make it less likely that teams become mathematically eliminated by the all star break. 100 or so games in 120-140 days. Then 7 game series all the way to the end (1 week per series, 7 games in a row as needed). Done by mid to late october.
The only reason the season stays so long is so that team owners can find ways to make back enough money to pay those overpriced children to play the game. Alex |

No shit
To pay a guy a quarter of a billion dollars is outrageous and you are right that is why the season is so long. As for the NHL they need to profit share so teams like Calgary (yeah) and Edmonton can actually compete. Now I know money can't buy a championship (YANKEES in baseball) but it can make the team very competitive which in turn increases ticket sales. Without profit sharing the Tampa Bay Bucs would have been tits up 20 years ago. But with profit sharing allowed them to actually win a superbowl. (kinda jumping from league to league, but it is all the same shit) chuck |

The thing you have to remember about the season is, it was this long before free agency and high salaries. Purists will say that there are too many teams making the playoffs already. The point of the long season was shake out the pretenders and then the two best teams played in the world series. I generally only watch the Indians games GO TRIBE! |

Well, the pro bowl will be on a week after the superbowl i believe, and april 23rd is the draft, then NFL Europe season starts, and it will be televised weekly on The NFL Network, on direct tv. Maybe that will help some.

There are some fixes... I guess, but it is still not not the NFL.
Funny that no one recommended CFL (bush league). |badidea
