That happened to me once with Thunderbird. Not gone exactly but I thought they were, I had to right click and Compact the Folder I think it was because when you delete emails apparently they are not completely gone taking up space so compacting removes they totally. (I think).

But in the 4 years I've used Thunderbird (inbox shows June 05) that only happened once and like I said the emails were never gone and are still there to this day.

So yes I use Thunderbird

I use both for different accounts and I must say if I had to choose I would pick Thunderbird for the spam engine alone... I have maybe had to pick out 3-4 "good" emails from 4 years of spam. and now I trust it so much I never even look anymore. On the other hand I find myself constantly worried I missed something of value in the junk folder of Outlook. Maybe this is a case of my own ability to set each up but none the less it is a major factor for me.

I like thunderbird, but their isnt a simple way of importing an old thunderbird profile. You can import from your old outlook stuff all day long, but not from your old tbird profile.

Its pretty weird.

Hi maybe there aren't quite as many options on thunderbird but I switched and find it better and quicker (I have it checking 23 email accounts and it does it in a fraction of the time Outlook used to take) I also back up my profile every few weeks and you can drop the whole profile directory back in (or onto another computer) and it works fine!
