Tuesday February 19th (aka What Was The Best Concert You've Ever Been To?)
Morning!
Like the thread title says, think about the best concert you've ever been to. For me, it was in seeing The Smashing Pumpkins at Buffalo State College in 1994 with 3 of my buddies. I'm still in contact with all 3 & to this day, we all say it's still the best concert any of us ever saw. On Sunday I stumbled upon this page: Poster of the Week: Smashing Pumpkins And there is was: the concert promotion poster! I contacted them & while they do not have any for sale, they were nice enough to send me a hires image scan of the original poster for my own "personal use". 🔛⛅9️⃣ Of course, that was basically the only thing that happened yesterday that wasn't a I might have to change my avatar back All kinds of running to do today. Bank & post office, then ASSIL needs a ride downtown (where I'll sleep in my car for an hour), then the chiro & I'm sure I'm missing something I'm supposed to do... I best get moving |

Good morning.
Unlike Ramster, I am paying attention! My favorite band is Electric Light Orchestra and has been even before I went to see them at the Canadian National Exhibition in 1978 (with Meatloaf as the opening act). At the time it was Canada's biggest concert with almost 70,000 in attendance. Great show! They were almost at the height of their fame. Fast forward almost 40 years. My wife and I planned a trip to Amsterdam in 2016 because she's always wanted to see tulips fields in bloom. Coincidentally, Jeff Lynne's ELO was playing there while we were away and I decided to spend some cash and get the best tickets I could. Woo who! I've never seen a concert from row 8 and it was absolutely fantastic. Despite being an old (almost 70?), Lynne continues to have an excellent voice. The band was completely different but then Lynne was always ELO. Virtually all the songs were written and produced by him. He played all the ELO hits and a few Traveling Wilburys too. So my 2016 ELO concert is my favourite. Yesterday, was a regional holiday (observed by many provinces) so I did nothing productive. I am looking at my "to do" folder to see what's on my plate. Have a great day! Last edited by ArtWilliams; 2019-02-19 at 09:44 AM.. |

Best concert? That would have to be May 1979, Journey at the Paramount Theatre in Portland, OR.

Jimi Hendrix at the old Inglewood Forum back in 1969. Modern times -- way too many to list as I used to go out to shows every single week in Texas. Of those, Mike Blakely and Thomas Micheal Riley's joint show at the Luckenbach Dance Hall. There are some DVDs and CDs out there of that show. Part of a great weekend of live music. Here in Finland? Michael Monroe (Hanoi Rocks) on the Viking Grace last year. He has hardly aged and it was a very fun trip.

In 1992, I went to Lollapalooza in Saratoga with my then girlfriend, eventual wife, and current ex-wife (all the same person). I remember RHCP and Pearl Jam and not much else. I was just out of the army and I was thrilled to be back in love with ol' whatshername after being gone for four years. The only other concert I have ever been to was Judas Priest when I was in eighth grade. Actually, that was probably a better show.
I'm playing with content this morning. I finally found my HD videos for my older women site on an external drive. I was afraid that I didn't copy them from my big PC which is still in my camper 3,000 miles away. I'm juggling photo sets as well. That goddamn snaggle tooth dog is staring at me for no obvious reason, so I should probably figure out what the hell she wants.

Good Morning
Had a blast yesterday with the grandson but I was completely worn out by the time he left. I barely made it to 9:05 to do PornLuv reviews and rebuild that network before passing out. Some of us are OLD but the concert situation all depends on when your first one was. I was allowed to go see bands at 14 but I know people my age that didn't see there first one until their early twenties due to parents or lack of money. I saw Van Halen during the early years supporting their 2nd and then 3rd albums. Those were great. I also saw Motley Crue perform at the Whiskey right before they blew up nationwide and that show was also great. It wasn't your normal club type show as they were doing 2 separate shows that night. Anyhoo, I have dental appointment soon and a couple errands after that. Enjoy your Tuesday! |

Hello
Best concert? Hmmm, that's a really tough one. I guess I must say Primus @ Kongsberg Jazz Festival 2012. Les Claypool stated that he had never played under a giant Vagina before Those guys are insane on their instruments. My favorite-band Motorpsycho played on the same stage prior to Primus. A lot of people (Like super-producer Andrew Scheps) states that Motorpsycho is one of Rock's best kept secret. This day they were a mediocre support band, at best. (And their show was really good too!!) If Primus for some reason aren't accepted, Discovering Faith No More @ Roskilde Festival in 1992 comes just behind. (Or their 'second coming' at Hove Festival in 2009) Been testing out my new Camera today. Sony CyberShot DSC-HX400V. So if anyone wants to fuck in front of it, ask someone else. Have a great evening Jlly |

(I did have 4th row seats to see them on the Girls Girls Girls tour with Whitesnake opening for them in 1987) I was supposed to go to that show, but I couldn't get off from work I was able to go to Lollapalooza the next year, which was headlined by... They were great when I saw them in 1993. Opened with My Name Is Mud with that big backlit tree with the sun going down behind it like in the video. It was amazing. Alice In Chains was the co-headliner, but none of us knew any of the other bands, se we drank beer & smoked in the porta potty. I sometimes wonder if any of those other bands made it big... Front 242?! Who the hell are they?? |
