Help please!

I really need some some help/advise conserning MIE.
Mine is so screwed up, but of course, Windows will not let me remove it so I can reinstall it.
It does really stupid stuff.... like not loading images, taking me to the wrong URL, etc..
Now it doesn't matter if I delete cache files, history files, temps, etc..
Also I have checked for ad-aware and trojans, etc..

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!
"This smells like adware/spyware. I suggest you go check the file
c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
and
c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\lmhosts "
Checked that, nothing there!

Sounds like malware.

I assume you're on XP - you could get an idea of what's running by writing down the urls that it send you to and searching in Google. I'd also disconnect from the net and run adaware spybot and cwshredder. What AV and firewall are you using?

Go there, get spybot search and destroy.

http://www.lavasoft.de/news/product/info/

Then go there and get adaware. Install and run the update procedure on both.

Run them both and they will get rid of 99% of the shit that's out there and should restore most settings on IE back to normal for you.

1st thing, stop using Internet Explorer. Too many bad things happen. Don't get me wrong, I use Avant Browser - same as IE, but when I need to do sensitive stuff, review galleries or what not then I use FireFox.

2nd - Download these free programs. Two are totally free but spy subtract is a 30 trial. It works the best.

Start your computer in "safe mode" and run these three programs. This should fix you up, also if you are using XP then restoring your computer to a date before you were infected will also help, but run these programs first. I'm not a wizzard at this stuff, but this is how I get rid of the problems you are having. And it works everytime. Also since you are still in safe mode, run a virus scan. Just to be completely sure.

Good luck!

Then how do you know which galleries to reject (because they contain viruses)?

After the galleries have been reviewed I use the gallery scanner that came with auto gallery sql. Normally it will pick any changes to the gallery, plus give me an error message. When it gets flagged in the report then I check out the gallery more carefully if not just delete it.

Aw, Dad, you've done a lot of great things, but you're a very old man, and old people are useless

Try resetting your IE to the default settings. Your browser has been hijacked! And then what Mredick said:
