Question Anyone listing AVS sites??

Just curious if any of the link list owners here would care to post whether you still accept avs sites and if so what few are left that you do allow?

TIA

Not any longer listing AVS sites

Changed linksmachine, and a couple others to reflect this.

May need a Fargo run sometime next week

I'm still listing them. Hopefully this will not change, but I'm not very optimistic.

The submitter must provide a password, not a backdoor URL so that I can see what the surfer will see. Usually rules, no consoles, FPA, or new windows, which in itself means that I will not list many AVSs.

I think the link lists are going to become fewer and few for avs listings, but I thought it was worth asking.

Cool on the Fargo Trip

Yeah thats the part that sucks Cleo. The ones that have stuck around so far have added so much crap at the entrance, we still can't get many listings

I'm still going to list them, but I am going to keep and eye on them. You don't want a million dead links in your list.

The reason for the current AVS problems is because of Visa regulations and the need to stay beneath 1% chargeback ratio. Adult Check was pretty much the biggest AVS company (correct me if I'm wrong). I doubt it will be long before more follow suit.

Sucks for people that feed their families with AVS money. I know people in that very situation.

Hypothetically here -
Let's say AC was in fact the largest AVS out there. (I don't have any actual figures - but I'm guessing they probably were for at least a couple month or so - and being such, the biggest target of fraud)

1. As the owner of AC don't I know MY status as an AVS? (and don't I know my chargeback ratio?)
2. Visa changes their rules - Did I not receive some kind or warning from Visa beforehand? (probably yes - and I'm simply guessing 60 or maybe 30 days ago.)
3. Big questions to overcome - How to handle the change over to reduce chargebacks.
4. Should I tell the webmasters???
5. Let's NOT tell the webmasters and take over from here (biz decision mistake #1).
6. 80/20 rule in play here? Take the top 20% (the top income earners - or some similar ratio - biz decision mistake #2) .
7. Can my remaining producers produce consistent products worth recurring? (probably but because they own paysites and have their own content)

I am not against making a hard business decision, we've all made them.
I'm really against making a Stupid Decision that effects literally thousands of people.

To me, this looks like the logic AC took.
However, I don't think they ever took into account the Base of their membership.

Let's say only half of the AC webmasters remove their sites, Gold, Silver, basic - (the rest are probably no longer webmasters)
That would leave a steady, though declining stream (as the SE's reindex) for about 6 months that they can quite simply keep.

From a surfer's point of view -
1.) I just found some pics I like
2.) I signed up and paid the fees.
3.) Right now, do I know I only have about a 75% chance of clicking on a valid link? (do the math - it should work out)
4.) I cancel my membership thus increasing chargebacks for the time being.

Now, this should all work itself out in about a year depending on the SE's. Replacing the current AC members with new ones that don't expect to get the same amount of content....

My REAL question is posed to the % ratio that is still promoting them, GG, Tommy (just a guess), Jim (don't have a clue)???
Honestly, why would you sign a NDA. and continue to promote a company with a chargeback problems?
If it's simply $ and Cents - knowing it will end within 6 - 12 months - Fine with me, that's a biz choice, take the money and run.

But if you continue to create, produce, promote???
GG, Tommy, Jim etc...
I simply can't follow that logic.

I must also recognize Cleo as a BIG HELP with this!!!
(HUGSSSSSSSSS )

(if you can't follow this logic, shoot me an email - I'm easy to find)
Yes, I'm very upset about this. I'm not loosing much, if anything, but the thousands of AC only webmasters and about 480+ links removed?)

I'm still listing Cyberage, AC et al at the moment but I've had to delete a lot of CyberAge sites which have gone 404.
If the remaining wms decree that the sites are untenable and remove them then of course I'll delete them, but as they aren't my sites I won't be taking it upon myself to determine their continued existence.

At this point, unless I can find AVS systems that are not either tied selling to blowing consoles all over the place, I will be removing the AVS sites over the next couple of weeks.

My understanding the AC situation is that it will change from an AVS site to a two tiered situation: 1 tier of content providers who will build sites that will be hosted by AC directly, and a secondary tier that will have doorway sites that in fact go to the main AC site. This gets around the Visa issue, because the content will all be in one place under AC's control, and the other doorway sites will not have content on their domains, and will technically be selling traffic to AC, not providing sites, similar to any other partnership type program.

I hope it works out for those involved.

Alex

Hey fetish1,

I think it's too early to do anything rash and dump all AVS sites from the links lists. The AVS model is evolving, not disappearing.

We will continue accepting AVS sites at CuddleBunny.

Peace,
Verbal
