Is Anyone Else Using Some Of The Pay Layout HTML5 Tags?
As I've mentioned previously, I'm trying to implement some HTML5 Tags into The Gutting Of LOR, mostly the new ones for your page layout.
Examples: <hgroup> - Groups heading (<h1> to <h6>) elements - http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_hgroup.asp <header> - Defines a header for a document or section - http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_header.asp <footer> - Defines a footer for a document or section - http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_footer.asp <nav> - Defines navigation links - http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_nav.asp <address> - Defines contact information for the author/owner of a document - http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_address.asp <thead> - Groups the header content in a table - http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_thead.asp <tbody> - Groups the body content in a table - http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_tbody.asp <tfoot> - Groups the footer content in a table - http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_tfoot.asp So, I was just wondering if anyone else has started to use them, and if not, why? |

I'm using using
Header, Footer and Article in the two pages that I redid this last week. Didn't use tables at all. |

I guess I should have mentioned that you can see all of those tags in action on this page:

The real challenge is not using tables.
CSS is like trying to tame a wild beast. Today, while trying to better understand css compound selectors, I finally figured out what !important does. http://www.electrictoolbox.com/using-important-css/ Going to be using compound selectors more now that I have a better understanding of how they work. But right now I've got a ton of typing changes to make to the spa website. It's great that they had me do it in Wordpress so that they could make their own changes and now have me doing everything. $$$ |

<section> & <article> are good ones I use, although I am still unclear if I am using them in the right way or what, if any benefits from SEO I might get....
I've been using html5doctor as a reference

All our new site templates will be using them. Most everything else I do is WordPress based these days but if and when I tweak templates I'll be staying HTML 5 compliant as much as possible.
