Monday October 19th (aka Rufus Pip Is Sick)
Morning...
In a bit of a worried mood this morning as my lil guy Rufus Pip is sick I'm hoping it's just some kind of flu or virus. For the last few days, he's been barely eating & has the shits. The Bitch just left to take him to the doctor, so my fingers are crossed it's not something bad. |

Lots of people that I know seem to have come down with some kind of cold. Hoping that I don't catch it too.
Waiting for my Air BnB guest to check out and then I get to play maid service and clean the room and bedding. My guest that was supposed to check-in on Thursday just cancelled but another one just inquired for the same dates so I'm hoping that she books. I just changed my cancelation policy to something more strict as people booking dates and then canceling is causing me to lose guests that would have booked on the same dates. Other than being a hotel maid today just a day of computer screens full of smut. Florida winter weather has finally started arriving. Looking forward to being abe to turn off the A/C and opening the windows. |

Good Morning
Typical work day for me and that is about it. Trying to squeeze in as much work as possible before my trip later this week. Not taking my computer and unless I feel like doing work on my phone, which I don't, this should be a nice break. Greenie, hope Rufus is okay for he is a sweet dog. We have a stray cat that I feed 2 or 3 times a day and just last week it stopped eating for 5 days. We honestly thought she was going to pass when she slowly started to eat again taking a few more days to eating like she use to. Hopefully Rufus is just going thru the same. Back to work |

Good morning all
Back from New York City after getting there Thursday night with my daughter for her dance workshop. Good time and she enjoyed that, got home late last night. Greenie, hopefully Rufus is ok. Cleo, yea best to have at least a fee of some sort if they cancel late. And wow, how can you stand it there at 77 degrees brrrrrrrrrr On a more sad note, 2 friends of mine from high school (not close friends but people I know and interact with on Facebook) had a tragety over yesterday. Their 21 year old daughter was killed in a car accident. So Fucking sad! Beautiful girl, whole life ahead of her. Some kid was driving and he is ok, she and another girl thrown from car (seatbelts not on I assume, stupid), she died in hospital, other girl not sure about and another boy was killed at the scene in the car. SO 2 dead, 1 not sure, driver ok (probably had his seat belt on) |

Just popped in for a quick update on Rufus: Vet says he has a bacterial infection in his tummy Put him on antibiotics & pepcid for the next few days. He just ate a big plate of chicken & rice, so it looks like he's on the mend

Took a rare day off yesterday.
There is an amusement park on the south coast of England, where I used to go as a kid/teenager. It is probably the oldest in Britain (opened in 1880), and has Britain's oldest rollercoaster (opened in 1920) which is one of the world's 20 remaining scenic railway type rollercoaster (no upstops, and a brakeman on each train acting as "driver"). I have not been there since the late 1970s (or possibly 1980s), but it was a big part of my childhood/teen years. About 15 years ago the park closed down, and a couple of years later the rollercoaster caught fire (it was a wooden one so burned easily). This spring the park at last reopened and last Thursday restoration on the rollercoaster finished. So Yesterday I took the day off and went to ride the rollercoaster for "old time's sake". Not a cheap day out. Admission was reasonable (=~$21) but the train fair down there was not (=~$60). So basically $81 for a ride on a rollercoaster! Unfortunately the coaster only ran for three days before breaking down about an hour before I arrived, so $81 for a ride I NEVER GOT ! Maybe he needs the puppy's "no more nails" medicine! |
