Inside Google

Here is an interesting read on google. http://www.webworkshop.net/seoforum/...ic.php?t=18817
It might put some rumors to rest or at least give you some different ideas on seo in general. It's a long read but well worth it.

Long indeed, but enlightening. Signals and classifiers...

Thanks for sharing.

The link doesn't work for me right now, but I know what you're refering to and its a nice read for sure. Lots of interesting stuff in there, but one that stuck out for me is the possibility for ranking on the first page by appearing to serve a need besides delivering pics and vids (news, reviews, how-to's, definition of a term, etc).

Perhaps this is why so much spam creeps up in the SERPs?

Who knows. Right now, it seems to me .edu spam is popping up more often than before.

Yes and these guys are either dumb or have some balls...

I have seen many of these .edu spammy sites on domains with like congressman names and such. |badidea|

But, they figured something out(or maybe it was the shotgun effect), they are all over google.

Desperate people using desperate measures to make money.
Just like any spammer, they just show a lack of any IQ.
Personally i wish these fuckheads would fuck off and die somewhere painfully.

I can't agree with that. Those cocksuckers seem to know a lot more about Google than we. I don't know how effective their sales pitch is, but they sure know how to get to the surfer before we do.

I think they may get lucky more often than getting in there for pure seo skills. They're throwing tons of shit at the wall and some of it apparently sticks.

But those sites won't last if a human editor lays eyes on their listings. They stand out like a sore thumb. Why would .edu belong in adult results, google needs to figure out how to filter that crap out.

For a short time maybe as sooner or later they'll get caught as most spamming vermin do.

I don't see it as knowing more than everyone here, as above they're that desperate they'll try anything and everything and this time maybe they got lucky.

Next week they'll be sucking cock in the shower block of a local prison.

More likely they'll just start all over again while we keep talking about 'em.

That's a possibility for any of us.

Next week, the same crew will be giggling at us while another one of their $3 .info or .edu domains holds the top five positions for all the possible search phrases. Google deleting a domain neither stops nor deters these guys. It's foolish to think that they are just lucky at what they do.

Well greenie has the 2nd spot on the search phrase posted further up.

The sponsors of one of the .edu sites is klikadult.com so maybe if the sponsors checked out affiliates better and blacklisted these fuckers, put their details on an international database of assholes that all affiliate programs have to join then this kind of crap + mail spam would be reduced and adult sites wouldn't have such a bad name.

The search engines would certainly look upon us in a better light if they saw something being done within.

Well... they are somewhat lucky unless they have cracked the algo at Google, which is highly unlikely. I'm not saying they are just getting by on blind luck, they obviously have skills being put to use. Google could wipe them out with one new filter or tweak. Simply remove .edu domains from adult related results and they're gone overnight. |goodidea
