Angry This is a new rejection for me (PenisBot)

A site I submitted Jan 9th just got reviewed and rejected...

"We do not allow such agressive advertisment."

|confused|

I was *really* looking foraward to having the site listed on PB/WB

To get rejected for doing a good ad copy job is sorta...odd.

We are selling a base desire they call "the nasty", right?

While I do appreciate the rejection e-mail, I don't see any way to look at my copy and figure which text was 'agressive' for the reviewer.

If this is a catch-all excuse they use to reject I'd actually feel a bit better.

As is, writing agressive ad copy is my job. Anyone can plugin thumbs and pics/vids..

We are selling hardcore human base desires.

kit- it would be good to have a 'bad words' list or something.

Not only is it tough to figure what your reviewer considers 'agressive', but I tend to use the same style for any site.

whores, sluts, pussy, cunt, asshole, fucking, fingering...what is it?

I think with "agressive advertisment" they mean that you sell too much and too hard to find the content, not that you are using words as "whores, sluts, pussy, cunt, .....".

Very hard to say since it's all subjective.. one mans trash/treasure and all that jazz.
What did you do different? Bigger links? Longer text? One of these guys?

I did nothing different except change the background- I think. For sure, I didn't change any amount of advertising or even banners.

It cannot be the hard to find content thing as my sites are very straight forward with just one big ENTER link at the bottom of main page. In fact, it is not so different than a site that got a tier 3.

btw, reason I am pretty upset is that in effect what kit is saying is:

"Alpha, your style is too agressive"...

...which means I will never get listed on PB/WP again.

PB has been swapping out with tommy as #1 LL traffic lately for me.

To have my #1 LL source reject what I know will be several sales is bad enough.

But to have then basically tell me that my style is too agressive throws up a red flag that none of my sites will be accepted from now on.

I mean- that's my style. I'm 1:298 of LL traffic for the site I promote in that free site that was rejected. Hell, I thought it would even get a good tier number.

So, this rejection feels like a personal blow to my ad copy which is all we have.

I've also never been rejected before.

I mean- if it's accepted all other places and this style works for me...I'm not even sure how to change it.

Sure, it's said to just build and move on. But this rejection is a bad omen that for whatever reason there was a policy change/ reviewer change and they don't like what works for me.

Hell, I've nver gotten under a tier 7, and usually do better than that. Now, it's like- because your ad copy is agressive we won't list you.

It's not the content, or a rule breaker- it's a judement call on a subjective thing.

I'm I really seeing my #1 / #2 and # 7 Link List traffic go *poof* over a subjective item that is the heart of what we do?

If kit could be more specific I guess there is no choice but to comply. I was expecting at least several sales this weekend from that site.

Now I tend to think others I have in their que will be rejected for exact same reason.

I hope kit reads this soon. I am well aware it's his site, his rules, but I'm willing to modify my style to get listed. However, I need specifics in order to modify.

While I don't agree with this 'agressive=bad' thing at all I am all to aware I am but a grunt and need the traffic.

I wasn't aware a porn link list could ever be in favor of censorship...but it seems this is the case. That's truly sad.

Simmer down now. Ask him specifically what he meant. I think you are running away with this now. I realize that it can be upsetting, but you aren't even sure what the exact issue was. And just because they rejected one, doesn't mean they're blacklisting you.

Calm down and think about a bit. You'll be fine. I'm sure kit will continue to list your sites. Just contact him and find out what he considers aggressive. Usually it's a 'click here' on the index that isn't associated with a graphic banner.

Have you gotten that before?

It usually takes kit quite a while to get to the board.

Yeah- I guess I woke up and got the rejection mail, got pissy and then see aebn is down which is central to my hub...it's not a shiny happy day for me and porn.

Yes, I received that type of rejection from Hoes in the past. My initial reaction was EXACTLY like yours. (except Hoes pointed out pretty specifically what the problem was) After an hour or so I calmed down and thought about it and came to the realization that they we're right in their decision. Any text 'Click Here' type link (when not immediately adjacent to a sponsor's graphic) before the Enter link can be pretty easily misconstrued as the enter for the free site. I ended up replying to their rejection and thanking them for taking the time to let me know what I had done wrong.

<Here's where it begins to sound like I'm kissing the asses of link list owners, but that's not what I'm doing.>
I have this bizarre theory I have developed which has helped me keep the course. *That which is good for the link list is ultimately good for me. If friendly and easily navigated free sites keep link list traffic happy and coming back, they will be there for my next submission. If I do something underhanded, even unintentionally, that alone could be enough to make a surfer think that the list is at fault, thus losing traffic for the list AND for me.

Hmm. OK. Guess I had a hissy.

I do have one of my css banners on the index page which is something I hadn't normally done. I'm sort of guessing that is it, but can't be 100%.

Aww, fuck- I think I deleted the e-mail that let's me click a link to say I fixed it.

Is the day over yet?

Damn Skippy - life's too short to get all a flutter. You'll find out the answer in due time. Just like I will find the answer in due time about my fake recip thingy.

Link list problems don't compare to being in other people's shoes <tsunami>!

Relax, have a drink, take a pill, smoke a joint, have sex, or whatever. I'm doing all of the above! J/K!

They don't need your sites, but you do more or less need their traffic... so it's up to you whether you tone it down a little and take the traffic, or don't submit there, keep your existing ad style but get less traffic. Substantial amounts of traffic make more than a few fractions of a percent CTR (remember the 80/20 rule), so I know which option I'd take.

When you are writing aggressive copy it is also easy to slip into borderline blind linking territory...

Look at it this way- if you don't get one of those from penisbot every once in a while you aren't selling hard enough.

And different reviewers look at similar sites and judge them differently.

It's useful feedback actually, even tho it's irritating when it happens.

Alfa, One rejection doesn't mean all your future sites will get rejected. May be it was a tough day for the reviewer. IMHO, Don't worry too much. Move on and make another site and another.......

By the way, why not post the url of your site. It might help others as well.

Oh - now that feature of the board is quite annoying & I can see it being abused & used for things other than Wazza's humor

I think the problem in SIZE of advertising blocks. This reject not about nasty words in the site description or title. If you have 3 banners on page, but big sized with aggressive color blinking, it can be a reason.

Please send us request to support(at)penisbot.com or post url example here.
