Link Lists and bookmarkers
I've recently done a small sociological study of porn surfers and their bookmarking habbits
 Turns out they like TGPs better than Link Lists. Espesially TGPs like that have a lot of movie galleries - like http://www.tiava.com So starting out a new Link List would be hard IMO - hard getting surfers to bookmark it and visit it daily. What do you think could be done in order to make Link Lists more popular among surfers ? |

I suspect that many surfers don't like warning pages on free sites.
If I was starting a TGP today, I'd do it with category pages rather than a big list on an index page. This way you can still filter traffic into niches, like a link list does.

could Links Lists move to a no-warning template ?
like: main page with recips and couple of gallery pages I think surfers would like that. It is kinda annoying to go thru warning and main pages - surfers want porn fast. |

Did you run a poll and ask if they like a tgp or linklist better? I dont see how you could get surfers input.

You also have to remember that if you ask someone on the street the differance between a TGP & a Link List, they will look at you with very confused eyes

I have a couple small private niche link lists and the surfers seem to like them just fine. Traffic keeps growing day after day.
Of course a surfer is going to like free movies better than a couple pics on a page or two, so what? They would also love free access to high quality movie sites. I'd love to see you talk to Ernesto about giving all surfers free access to Cum Fiesta... |

TGPs have a clear advantage over surfers.
They would rather bookmark a site like www.tiava.com then a linklist. Cleo, if you think webmasters are giving away too much for free, why don't we set up some extra "click-thru" pages and install pop-ups ? That will make you a ton of money. Too bad you wont have any traffic because no one gonna bookmark a site like this. I was talking about a compromise that would help Link Lists compete with TGPs for bookmarkers. |

I do like tiava, but personally I wouldn't bookmark it because of the new windows popping all over the place.
Like I said before, surfers don't know a TGP from a Link List from a hole in the wall. They just know what they like |

Bookmarkers are pure gold but I dont think it makes much a difference tgp or linklist if you got what they like they will bookmark it and come back

Bookmarkers are fantastic, whether from tgps or LLs - the one advantage that LLs have over the TGPs (in most cases) is that so many TGPs run cj's/traffic trades which will piss a potential bookmarker off
 The idea about no warning page would be ok as long as you also agree that the biz model for LLs should change to paid placement/submits just as the tgps have |

I forgot to point out one small thing and you could probably get good numbers from the WM of Tiava as he also runs quite a few other major TGPs - I believe that you will find that the percentage of bookmarkers on a TGP runs a lot lower than a LL - at least in my limited experience with them that has been the case
I too would love to hear where and who was used for this study, and whether it was done just in your country, worldwide or a specific group and what you used for controls for the study |

Even if surfers are more likely to bookmark TGP's(which I sincerely doubt!) the simple $ return per surfer is going to be much less than a per bookmarker level at an LL.
Sure they bookmark TGPs, to get as much free shit as poss without ever payin a cent. If this "study" was real(another point I doubt!) I would imagine the "life" of those bookmarkers was very short.. Surfers will only be jerked around for so long.. Big TGPs have big numbers that is all... I would rather have 50,000 surfers that "want" to be at my site than 100,000 that don't and just got sent there by a script. DD
