Software advice for mirroring a gallery
Hello
I want to create my own small internal gallery list, with the gallerys on my own domain. I need a program that I can just punch the url of the FHG into it, and it will download it for me exactly as is, with same index, and file structure, as well as downloadign the movies etc. I have tried using HTTRACK and it just seems to complex, I cant seem to get it to do what I want. So basically I need some advice on what software to use? What I used to do was just bring up the gallery in IE and hit save as and save it and then go thru each movie and save taget as but that is too time consuming. Been looking for a program for a little while, I thought it would be easy to find such a program thanks in advance for any suggestions JD |

winhttrack is actually pretty straight forward...
just put in the url, tell it to mirror to say, /web /images ...s tart ripping... 5 min later u have everything pimped out. If u dont want to use it i have seen some pay software that is specifically for ripping galleries, but pay might not be ur thing |

Ok, cool, 2 guys that use it.
Heres my problem. When I use it, it makes these numbered index pages, and I'm not sure why its doing it. So I tried putting this list of 10 FHG into it, and its saved the movies ok, and the images and stuff, but its made me 10 index pages outside the root directories of the FHG that its created, which is really stupid as I really wanted the index pages inside each specific FHG directory that its made. SO what can I do to stop it making these numbered index pages? thanks JD |

Aw, Dad, you've done a lot of great things, but you're a very old man, and old people are useless

HTTrack is the shit so don't give up on it.
You may have a setting checked to convert the structure for offline surfing in which case it may change things around for you. Did you check to make sure that the index pages are already inside the directories from the site that you are ripping from? If their index pages are outside the directory then yours will be too. |
