Good morning, peoples. I am in a particularly good mood today because my friend, Naomi, and I are going to Albany to see John Oliver do stand-up tonight.

Everything is covered in snow here now, but the sun is shining and isn't too miserable outside. I hope you all have a wonderful friggin' day.

Watching standing up is always fun especially when it's funny AND smart.

We are having our annual tree trimming party. Guests come and do my work by putting bulbs, lights and stuff on the tree. Works for me.

Also been working on a blog post writing script. The one I use is years old. I thought I should update it to make it better, which will improve the traffic I get to the auto written blogs and hopefully sell more mainstream shit.

Also, probably gonna put up a few Christmas decorations later, just to confuse my neighbours who think I am either Jewish or Muslim. (I look a bit Jewish to a Gentile's eye, but I have a long unkempt beard. Think of a fat Salmon Rushdie joining ZZ Top and you got a fair image of me.)

Going to work most of the day as the wife and daughter are going out to do their own birthday celebrations.

Speaking of beards I need to change my avatar. (edit) Done.
It's what you call a yeard. Let it grew for a year without really trimming. The plan is to shave it off after all the holidays but I've kinda gotten use to it.

Technically, yes, but I haven't promoted them at all so there's no incoming links to speak of. I've been too busy working on the plugin itself.

Hopefully in January I'll start working on backlinks and such. That gives the sites some time to age.

The very first autoblog I started is a little over 3 months old. The SE traffic with no promotion is

The vast majority of the traffic is from long tail keywords.

I'm not very experienced monetizing mainstream but I'll get back to that site someday. I'm willing to work with anyone that wants to try breaking into mainstream too.

I'm currently working on modules for adult video sites so you can make an automated porn tube in minutes.

The only thing I have tried on my few pathetic attempts at mainstream has been Adsense. I don't mind telling you, after only one year, Google already owes me three cents.

I am going to grab your plugin after Xmas and try some new ideas.

My theory (and this is just IMHO, not "scientifically proven") is that the problem is that Google use "relevant advertising". I find this does not work. For example, I got no clicks using AdSense on a site about dogs. Switching to sponsors selling dog related stuff, got no sales. But since switching to my own products I have sold several spell books, books on UFOs, books on ESP, and even a few copies of "Mistress Of Planet Dominatrix" on the dog site!

I'm guessing that this is because, if you go to a site on a particular subject it is because you are interested in that subject, and if you are interested in the subject you will have already bought most of what you need, or at least already know suppliers, so are not interested in adverts of that sort. But if you are shown something new, you might be tempted.

Hmm I don't claim to be an expert but I'm surprised - do your sites just need more traffic? Or is the Adsense CTR really low?

Here's my Adsense snapshot from some 15-min blogs I set up

That's just from creating the site and nothing else. No incoming links etc.

Come January I'm actively promote them and see how high I can get them.
