Is "HTTP/1.1 302 Found" safe?

Is 'HTTP/1.1 302 Found' a safe way of redirecting clicks from a script to a sponsor URL? I'm guessing yes but I want a second opinion (or more.)

I assume this is how most advertising networks and toplists track their clicks.

I've been clicking banners and I notice (by reading the headers being passed back and forth) a lot of them redirect using 302. None of these sites seem to have any problems with being indexed in Google.

Is this the preferred method? Are there any sponsors who dont count 302 redirect clicks? Anything to be aware of?

Any opinions or discussion on this would be appreciated. Thanks.
