Flash - all but dead
In case anyone hasn't been following the mainstream tech news this week, a number of major players have come out calling for the death of Flash with Facebook being the biggest. Firefox will be disabling Flash by default in all future updates. MalwareBytes calls it the number one target for exploits.
If you have sites that are still using Flash it is time find an alternative. I've left Flash disabled in my browser just to see what sites are still using it. Quite a few programs out there that need to update their tours. |

Help a dummy out: let's say you have an embedded flash movie on your page that's not set to automatically play - like I do on 90% of my category pages. Example:
http://www.link-o-rama.com/greenguy/newsites.htm I never tried to play a flash movie like this in Firefox before today & when I did, it told me to install Adobe Flash, so I don't know if that's a new thing or that's what now happens if you use Firefox. For some reason, I thought this whole flash thing was about ads/vids that automatically played when you went to the page? Am I wrong? |

You can now put whatever you want in this space :)

(Geeze! IE still doesn't have a Paste & Go option when you put a URL in the toolbar??) OK - so now I can watch the vids on my category pages with any browser I have. But... are all IE & Firefox surfers getting the error & Adobe link? Or is that just my timing? (meaning I would have had to do that 2 months ago if I tried to play a vid on my category page) Am I ill informed as usual? |

Google Chrome doesn't use Adobe Flash at all. Instead it has their own engine for playing Flash.
Everything else needs Adobe Flash installed along with their never ending series of updates. |

Oh! I haven't changed since high school and suddenly I am uncool
|
I have an issue with it on my Mac, seems it's a constant update that never actually updates. Vids and cams play, but it's jumpy, blinking white. Of course I use Seamonkey which could be an additional issue.

I would try uninstalling Flash and then reinstalling it. |
