What are your best sponsors?
I am wondering what you are promoting and what your thoughts about what is hot in adult these days.

Here is my list of sponsors that I'm doing great with and looking forward to others around me also promoting so that I have more competition.

MC - I would do a search on the board for this very thing. 'Best Sponsors' you will find a good selection of posts and some threads that have been started just recently as well asking the very same thing..and you will probably find pretty much the same answers from the majority. Not many share there hidden gem programs because it attracts competition..and although all of us are in pure competition with each other to an extent, none of us really like to add more.
Your best bet to get a grip on whats doing what is to check GreenGuy's numbers that he shares with the board each quarter or so. Green Guy Stats

So pretty much EVERYTHING sucks. I have been out of the business for a long time and have only recently begun building sites again. I honestly wish I had followed the advice of Tom over at Tom's newbie booster -- build, submit, and forget, and don't waste your time and money building a pay site. I did, and while I made good money back then, the income I received from building free sites for sponsors was GREAT, and the expenses were much less. Back then content and BW was EXTREMELY expensive.
I remember getting 14 sign ups in one week for Danni's Harddrive with only about 10 free sites promoting it. Now I have about 20 sites promoting Danni's and haven't getten a single sign up in six months. I remember the days when a Score sign up meant income for six months or more. The recurring income was GREAT. Now it's one month and they quit (and sometimes they charge back). This has been really frustrating. Sometimes I feel like if I got a sign up it would die of loneliness. If I had continued to build, submit, and forget like I was taught, I would probably be very wealth today. Unfortunately, I have fallen on some hard times and recently had quadruple bypass and am not yet strong enough to resume a real job yet. In the words of Brad Arnold, who said it in a 3 doors down song, "I hope that it gets better as we go." |

I don't know if it's ok to share links to other WM forums here...
But check out insidewebmastering.com A bunch of oldies in the biz (LB, Jel, Nekrom) have a "newbie school" going on, with a focus on blogging. I'm pretty much new to this biz as a whole, started in late July09. Signed up at IW in August, and made my first (and second) sales ever this past week. (Less than 2 months following their blog tutorials and program). The concept is "build and forget" blogs. Write 11 posts, install the oldest2newest plugins to rotate them every couple days, and build the next blog. Build 100 blogs, getting 100 unique visitors per blog, factor a 25% CTR to the sponsor... that's 2,500 clicks to the sponsor per day. Build 1 blog per day, and keep at it for 2 years, and based on the numbers, you should be at $100,000/yr in income. |

what I would do is hit some of the link lists and tgps and see what the submiters are promoting

I think at the very basic level you have to consider what your traffic is looking for, and what your knowledge can do to help make a sale. If you don't understand the motivation for a niche that you are trying to promote it will be an uphill battle.
So pick a niche that interests you, and then go find some sponsors. GG posts his stats on this board, some of the other members also post their stats on their sites. There is also a forum here to ask. Once you have mastered one niche, then you can start branching out to other areas. |

Are YOU leaving the biz then? You are a pretty successful guy, I would think. GG is still around, as are many from the old days, so someone must be making money. BTW, I don't intend to make this my primary business. I need capital for other interests. I have had some very hard financial times due to my health (which is much better). My eyes are up here.

I do well with a few sponsors that I continue to promote.
Sad news for some others though. I don't understand how some of them just seemed to have fallen completely off the map. Stuff that used to be easy to convert is literally standing still now.

It's something of scale too. You gotta figure back then the traffic sources were just a bunch of those links lists, a handful of tgps, etc.
Some people are purchasing domains in blocks of 100s, 1000s, etc. They have figured out how to automate and automate some more to take care of things. So not only are ratios worse the traffic for adult is going off to millions of other places as well. Trust me I get frustrated at times and just kick myself for not growing my network faster back in the day. For a couple years I was making more money than I had ever in my life while working a normal 9-5. That was with just promoting a couple solid sites and creating just but a couple huge networks. I wish I would have just cranked and kept going. Well turn to present day and that's what I am doing. Promoting a ton more programs and niches and I'm seeing a difference month to month. Some months I'm just maintaining and making up for losses in other areas. However, as time goes and I get better and better at expanding my network and automating tasks so as to free up time for other new stuff I know I'm going to get back to where I was. Then I figure with so many people leaving as well once the economy comes back I'll really be positioned. Just now however it takes a lot of very hard work and dedication to see projects and ideas through. |

There's still money in porn but not much.
Just have to search for the niche stuff that nobody is promoting. Dating and Cams will always be good too.

Yes, there is definitely money in porn still. It's just more difficult to get them And it's time to try new niches. Persobally i've discovered not so long ago that gays convert better

I love to work with DirtyNiches. They have a lot of high quality content and also they do often updates. For me I have good ratios on all of their sites. I'm hoping they will launch new sites
