Daleks in the Tardis... it's morning of 11/23/2013
Not really a fan of Dr. Who myself but today's Google doodle is rather additive.
Planning on taking today off and getting ready for tomorrow’s paddle and BBQ in West Lake park. Got to go to the grocery store and pick up lots of veggie burgers and dogs since I will not be the only non dead animals eater. Other than that just need to get all our kayaking gear together. We are taking the tandem since we will be the group leaders of mostly beginners so there isn't that much gear to pack. |

That is only because I have a bit of a cold and felt like shit when I woke up, so switched the alarm off and went back to sleep. If I'd got up when the alarm actually told me to get up I could have beaten you by over six hours!

Good morning. This is the scene outside my house right now. Welcome to winter! Today, I am moving over my finances from my Windows PC to my Linux laptop. That means that everything of importance has been migrated. Later, my wife and I are going to an auction. Have a great day! |

What's all that white stuff?
Here is the view up the street from us. Guess it is the same white stuff, just in a different form. |

I used to know a guy from Brazil who came over to England to (illegally) work, as we pay better. One thing he wanted to see while in Britain was snow, as they didn't have the stuff where he lived. When it snowed it used to annoy the hell out of me that I would arrive frozen stiff and pissed off with the weather, and he would be joyously ecstatic about what he considered to be the "beautiful weather".

Windows are open, enjoying the breeze. Looking forward to kayaking tomorrow. My niece, who grew up here, moved up north because she loves the cold and snow so much. Personally I think she must be suffering from some kind of mental illness. |

Morning!
Dogsitting is not nearly as blissful as I had hoped lol Sure, it's nice being away from my mom for a little bit, but fuck me! It's hard to sleep with 3 lil s fighting for your attention! The funny part is that, now that I'm up & moving around, all 3 are curled up on the couch sleeping like babies - maybe I should annoy them now Anyway, working now, then some Fantasy Football/Hockey prep work, then a shitload of GTAV Quote:
He doesn't have the fucking guts to do it tomorrow, too! |

Happy Dr Who Day
In just a little over 3 hrs it starts Damn Cleo, I spent too much time playing around at google. As for the snow, I enjoy visiting it as I have been back at a couple of Green people's homes during the winter. Even thou I like the areas I have visited from Buffalo up into Canada I do not believe I could live there all year so I would need to make a lot more money to do the snowbird thing |

That's right up there with having Homemade Deserts after Thanksgiving dinner.
It really sucks when no one catches it until after it goes to print. |

Should I mention that "Or select from one of our offerings on our alternative Thanksgiving menu." is a sentence fragment? No? Okay.

If so, are you on google.com? The reason I ask is that I get that on google.co.uk but not on google.com. I assumed that as it was a UK show, they only displayed it on google.co.uk. But if you are getting it on google.com, I guess they are doing some geo ip stuff and blocking in on google.com outside the USA. Also, I only get the game on Chrome, not on IE. Not sure if that is a deliberate "install Chrome" ploy from Google, or if it is because I use an old version of IE. |

Good morning world
Finished the day's work a little while ago, had a bite to eat, and now doing some much-needed couch time. Watched "Doctor Who Explained" while working and now about halfway through "An Adventure in Space and Time" (Doctor Who series creation story). After that it'll be time for "The Name of the Doctor" (the last episode of season 7) before watching the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Live Pre-Show and then, finally, "The Day of the Doctor" (the most important day). That's a lot of advance planning, so after that the rest of today will be more free form, or at least that's the plan. ...and yes, Cleo, those food pics are terrible, they really need to get someone who knows how to photograph food.

I never was able to get into the original run of the series (1963-1989), but when the Doctor returned in 2005 it definitely caught my interest. The ninth Doctor (Christopher Eccleston) was more my speed, and it probably helped that his new companion, Rose, was played by the very sexy Billie Piper (who also starred in Secret Diary of a Call Girl),
If you're just now looking to check it out, my suggestion would be to start where I did with the first episode of the 9th Doctor (plus "Doctor Who Explained"), then go forward through the series with the 10th (David Tennant) and 11th (Matt Smith) Doctors to get ready for the Christmas broadcast when 11 will regenerate into the 12th Doctor. It's not for everyone, so you may not like it after all, but if you do wind up getting hooked you'll have something besides fantasy football, hockey and GTA to post about. By the way, here's my favorite GTA comment: "The most important thing I learned from Grand Theft Auto is if you beat the whore after you are done you get most of your money back." -- pornopete
