Happy no mail and no banking day. Second Monday of October 2012
Funny how time changes how stuff is perceived. Back when I was in school Columbus was seen as a hero and now he is a villain.
Did a quick 5.5 mile paddle yesterday evening so skipping the gym today. Just a day spent with my ass planted in front of the computer planned for this stormy day with a slight chance of grocery shopping if the rain lets up. |

Good morning world
We're expecting some of Cleo's weather down here too. And my plans are similar, just going to stay inside and work today. The end of the Columbus video tells you to go to ReconsiderColumbusDay.org which has currently has a message on its saying "This domain name expired on 10/07/2012 and is pending renewal or deletion." You'd think they could remember that the day before Columbus Day is the day their domain expires. In other "are you fucking kidding me" news, Congressman calls evolution lie from 'pit of hell' ...and not just evolution, but also embryology and the Big Bang theory. Broun also said that he believes the Earth is about 9,000 years old and that it was made in six days. This is from Georgia Rep. Paul Broun (R), who is a medical doctor and sits on the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology. Wishing everyone a good start on a new week, hopefully as free from idiots as you can possibly expect in this world.

No need to pick on that small group though. There was a Gallup poll a few months ago that showed 46% of Americans believe in Creationism, specifically that: "God created human beings pretty much in their present form at one time within the last 10,000 years or so." But wait, there's more. Last year an Associated Press-GfK poll showed that 77% of adults believe angels are real (which is actually good news, since a poll a few years before showed 81% believed angels to be real). But to make it worse, a Baylor University survey showed 50% of all Americans believe they're actually protected by guardian angels, 20% say they’ve heard god speak to them, 25% say they've witnessed miraculous healings, 16% say they’ve received one and 8% say they pray in tongues. For any "believers" out there, my apologies if you think I'm mocking the myths that define you. Actually I'd just be glad to know you're thinking.

Morning all.
Well I'd be one of the 77% that believe angels are real, I've seen miraculous healing too. But come on, even if we were created here by a God (or seeded here, or were placed here by aliens would be more likely) trying to say evolution doesn't happen and you are a scientist? What a difference a week makes, I'm sitting here freezing (of course, I'm drinking a cold smoothie for breakfast) and we don't have to turn on the swamp coolers until afternoon. We are starting to get highs in the 80's fall has arrived in the dessert. Have a good one all!

Don't worry. Once Mitt is elected you'll have a new war to distract you.
